Abstract: A temperature moderating beverage container includes a cup and an insert, the cup having at least one wall. The insert seals against the cup wall and has a main chamber. An exterior wall of the insert together with the wall of the cup defines a temperature moderating chamber in fluid communication with the main chamber. A lid forms an airtight valve seal over the main chamber. The selective admission of air through the airtight valve seal urges a liquid within the main chamber into the temperature moderating chamber. The temperature moderating chamber and the main body are alternately formed within an insert having a vertical partition extending to the lip of the insert. A cap is designed to seat against the lip and with an intermediate gasket afford an airtight seal over the main chamber.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to a container having a main chamber in fluid communication with a temperature-moderating chamber. Preferably, a valve, actuated by a spring-biased button preferably positioned on a handle of the container, opens and closes an aperture within the temperature-moderating chamber to permit a hot beverage to flow from the main chamber into the temperature-moderating chamber. A lid having a sipping hole is provided to allow the consumer to consume the beverage from the temperature-moderating chamber.

A microwave interactive layer is affixed to the bottom wall for converting microwave energy into heat. The side wall is scored to define a first end flap and a second end flap. Each end flap is partially separable from the remainder of the package along the scoring and is hingedly connected to the bottom wall such that the separable portion of each end flap is pivotable from a first unseparated position to a second position located underneath the bottom wall.
