Patent number: 10631170Abstract: Certain embodiments herein are directed to managing wireless spectrum, which may include recommending or transmitting spectrum usage changes to one or more wireless devices. A spectrum management system comprising one or more computers may receive spectrum usage information associated with one or more wireless devices. The spectrum management system may generate a spectrum usage map based on the received information. Based on the spectrum usage map, a spectrum usage change is determined and transmitted to one or more wireless devices. The wireless devices may change their operation in accordance with the spectrum usage change.Type: GrantFiled: September 24, 2013Date of Patent: April 21, 2020Assignee: Intel CorporationInventors: Srikathyayani Srikanteswara, Carlos Cordeiro, Kerstin Johnsson, Anthony Lamarca, Jaideep Moses, Wen-Ling Huang, Christian Maciocco, Shilpa Talwar, Meiyuan Zhao, Jeffrey Foerster, Xue Yang

Methods and apparatus to detect the performance of an activity by detecting the performance of tasks
Patent number: 9904509Abstract: Methods, apparatus, systems and articles of manufacture to monitor tasks performed in an environment of interest are disclosed. One such apparatus is a task monitor that includes a signature comparator to compare a first signature to a second signature. The first signature is generated based on first audio collected in an environment of interest and the second signature is generated based on second audio collected during performance of a task in the environment of interest. The task monitor also includes an object identifier to identify an object corresponding to a location determined based on an angle of arrival of the first audio at a sensor. A task identifier is to identify the task as a cause of the first audio when the signature comparator determines the first signature matches the second signature and the object identifier identifies the object as a same object used to perform the task.Type: GrantFiled: June 30, 2017Date of Patent: February 27, 2018Assignee: Intel CorporationInventors: Giuseppe Raffa, Anthony LaMarca, Jonathan J Huang, Paulo Lopez Meyer, Hector A Cordourier Maruri -

Patent number: 7120668Abstract: Systems and methods for connecting two or more individuals to an Internet conversation based on their mutual interests, the current content they may be viewing and what they want to talk about at that time. The techniques of the present invention allow an individual who starts a conversation to maintain full control over who is able to join that conversation as well as how many are able to join at any one time. A user who desires to start or join a conversation about a particular topic or story selects an indicator, such as an icon, associated with the specific topic or story. The user is presented with an option to start or join a conversation. If the user opts to start a conversation, the user is presented with a comment page, and the user enters a comment, or comments, that preferably is intended to spark an interest in other users. The comment is then presented to other users.Type: GrantFiled: October 14, 2003Date of Patent: October 10, 2006Assignee: Yahoo!, Inc.Inventors: Udi Manber, Chi Chao Chang, Anthony Lamarca
