  • Patent number: 5170321
Abstract: An enclosure system (100) is disclosed which has a conductive cover shield (102) which is retained in contact with a substrate (104) having a radio frequency (RF) circuit disposed thereon. The enclosure system (100) is made up of a conductive area (116), disposed on the substrate (104) peripherally about the electrical circuit which is then connected to the conductive cover shield (102). This connection allows for substantial horizontal displacement (305, 305') of the substrate material (104). The natural resilience of the substrate (104) material then allows for substantial vertical displacement of the conductive cover shield (102) with respect to the substrate (104) without substantial loss of contact pressure between the conductive cover shield (102) and the conductive area (116). Additionally, this form of connection provides for at least partial isolation of the RF energy from an environment outside of the enclosure system.

  • Patent number: 4775847
Abstract: A tunable resonant cavity filter structure is disclosed which includes an enhanced ground return internal to the cavity which effectively eliminates generation of deterioration wide band noise and optimizes unloaded Q as well as rending resonant frequency stable with vibration. In its preferred form, the enhanced ground return is in the form of a ground return clip with reliant radial projections that mate with the threads of the threadable tuning element used to determine final operating frequency. The radial projections are deflected in cantilever fashion so as to generate sufficient pressure to break thru any oxides in the tuning element threads and ensure metal-to-metal contact.

  • Patent number: 4703289
Abstract: A distributed resonator stripline circulator is disclosed wherein a geometrically shaped resonator pattern is deposited upon a like geometrically shaped ferrite substrate. A ground plane is deposited upon the opposing side of the substrate which includes grounding wrap-arounds that extend partially onto the resonator face of the substrate. Two such resonators are assembled, resonator patterns facing, to form a stripline circulator. The grounding wrap-arounds provide electrical connection from the top ground plane to the bottom ground plane to provide superior isolation and control of circulator loading factors.
