  • Publication number: 20030082223
Abstract: A liquid, water-repellent, substantially anhydrous, spray-pumpable skin protectant composition is disclosed. The composition is designed for spraying directly onto skin, has suitable adherence to the skin, and resists running. The composition contains one or more actives, one or more rheology modifiers, and a carrier. The rheological modifiers can be waxes and/or associative thickeners such as some forms of silica. The carrier can be mineral oil replacement (e.g., isohexadecane, cyclomethicone). Film-forming components also help the composition resist running. One indication for which the composition may be formulated is diaper rash. The active ingredient for diaper rash may be dimethicone and preferably also zinc oxide.

  • Publication number: 20030072719
Abstract: The subject invention provides a detergent composition comprising an effective amount of a soluble potassium salt, a sodium (C8-C24) alkylsulfate in an amount effective to remove or loosen debris and/or stains from a surface, and a polar surfactant, said surfactant comprising a hydrophobic portion selected from a (C6-C30) alkyl group and a polymeric silicone group, wherein the molar ratio of the surfactant to the sodium (C8-C24) alkylsulfate is greater than or equal to about 1:1. Detergent compositions of the invention include oral compositions for removing and loosening plaque and/or stains from a dental surface and oral compositions for reducing dental nerve and/or dentin sensitivity.

  • Publication number: 20010042097
Abstract: An Internet-connected subscription server provides services to other Internet servers hosted by enterprises wherein enterprises servers planning future events may contract with the subscription server for the subscription server to tabulate clients agreeing to participate in a future event, and then alert the clients by a pager message at or near the time of the future event. In some cases the elicitation of participation and client-specific data enabling the alert may be done by the enterprise server, and in other cases this may be done by the subscription server. With one-way pager systems the alert may simply identify the event and provide the URL of the enterprise host. With two-way pager systems the alert may elicit a response from the client, and may also download further info to a pager on prompting by the client.

  • Patent number: 6273600
Abstract: A microbe suspender for determination of the microbiological quality of foods comprises a beater which beats the outside of a plastic bag containing test sample and suspending liquid at a frequency high enough that the bag does not completely follow the beater movement so that microbe suspending shock waves are transmitted into the liquid at each impact of the beater with the bag, yet low enough in frequency that on each impact the beater remains in contact with the bag long enough to transfer stirring energy to the liquid and test sample to aid the removal of deep-seated microbes. As additional improvements over the art the suspender provides a collecting tray which prevents hazardous microbial suspensions reaching the bench in the event that a bag leaks, and an operator-protecting door that does not comprise part of the beating/suspending mechanism so that it can be transparent and permit the action to be viewed, and additionally the door is completely removable to improve the cleanability.
