  • Patent number: 8692444
Abstract: A lighting fixture utilizing LED light sources for illumination of commercial, outdoor and other large area applications incorporates efficient heat dissipation and improved convective air flow. An integrated heat transfer assembly is disclosed that is configured to enhance heat dissipation by providing an efficient thermal conductive pathway for radiation of heat to an external environment. The lighting fixture body is configured with a lens body and heat sink having a chimney tube with internally facing finned heat sink arrangement for providing enhanced convective air flow through the light fixture body. When the heat sink transfers heat from the LED light sources during operation so as to create heated air surrounding the heat sink, ambient air is drawn through the chimney and the heated air is exhausted through air gaps so as to create a conductive air current with the environment.

  • Publication number: 20100109499
Abstract: A PAR style lamp is provided having a solid state light source, such as LEDs. The lamp includes a PAR-shaped housing, and an electrical contact carried by the housing and configured to receive input power. An illumination assembly is disposed in the housing and is electrically connected to the electrical contact to receive power. A heat dissipation assembly disposed in the housing and in thermal communication with the illumination assembly to facilitate the dissipation of heat during use of the lamp. The heat dissipation assembly is also electrically isolated from the illumination assembly.

  • Patent number: 6346003
Abstract: An edge guide arrangement for circuit boards is disclosed including a guide rail having a circuit board edge-receiving channel with a grounding strip therein. The grounding strip has clips at each end for resiliently grasping the guide rail thereby holding the grounding strip in its position within the channel. The grounding strip with its end clips can be standardized and inventoried in large quantities to be assembled to a variety of guide rails.

  • Patent number: 6302595
Abstract: An optical transmission system for coupling light from LED mounted on circuit boards includes a flexible light pipe that is bonded to a lens unit at one end and receives a fitting base at the other end. The lens unit is made to be pressed into and held in a hole in a panel and receive the light pipe through its rear structure. The fitting base may be shaped to be plugged into a circuit board over a board mounted LED or have the LED contained therein with leads to be soldered into a circuit board metal traces. The lens unit and fitting can be standardized and inventoried in large quantities to be assembled to meet a variety of instrumentation requirements in display panel.
