Abstract: Caseless ammunition for cannons, in particular automatic weapons with a selective single or bipartitioned cartridge chamber into which a projectile and a propellent charge are separately introduceable. The ammunition consists of a projectile member with a directly attached, fixedly interconnected propellent charge, and which is completed through a base detonator fuse which is separate from the projectile. The separation between the base detonator fuse and the projectile is undertaken in such a manner that, for the longest employed shell there are always formed two approximately equally lengthy parts.

Abstract: A cooling arrangement for the gun barrels of firearms, in particular automatic firearms and high-performance machine cannons. The arrangement includes radially outwardly directed cooling pasageways between the individual projectile chambers provided in the drum in the region of the end portion of the gun barrel axially adjoining the drum, and which are connected with a main passageway in the hollow-bored longitudinal barrel axis for the central cooling medium infeed. Connected to the nozzles of the radially directed passageways, which nozzles extend essentially in parallel with the longitudinal axis of the drum, closure members are interposed in the radial cooling passageways which automatically open and close in dependence upon the drum position and only during firing, whereby the outlet openings of the nozzles positioned in the axial end surface of the drum and, during rotation of the drum, will presently openly communicate for a short period of time with the associated end portion of the gun barrel.

Abstract: Arrangement for a mortar in an armored vehicle having a gun laying device. A ball bearing support is provided for the mortar in a traverse on the vehicle and allows for the axial displacement of the mortar to facilitate breech-loading of munitions having different sizes while protecting the interior of the vehicle.

Abstract: A system for sealing a wedge-type breech mechanism for a weapon firing caseless ammunition using a clamping stud in the external drive and enclosed in a recess provided in a wedge which axially presses a sealing ring against the sealing surface of a chamber wherein gear actuated clamping studs press a sealing ring against its sealing surface by a radially displaceable segment.

Abstract: A ring closure arrangement for the breechblocks of large-caliber barreled weapons; including a closure seal ring having an angled profile in a longitudinal axial section thereof, with the seal ring being prestressed at a closed breechblock position for sealing the end of the barrel against the breechblock. A recess is formed in the breechblock, the seal ring being axially displaceable within the recess; and actuating means being located in the breechblock for imparting axial movement to and pressing the seal ring against the end of the barrel.

Abstract: A priming arrangement in a jacket-or a caseless powder body or charge for small-bore weapons. In a caseless powder body, provision is made for the firing pin, at ignition misfire, to penetrate into the powder charge, however, being totally encompassed and screened by the cylindrical sleeve and the primer cap. In accordance therewith, the powder is protected from the hot tip of the firing pin.

Abstract: A rotatable cartridge chamber for a firearm type weapon in which the chamber is rotatable in the weapon at the rear end of the barrel and has cartridge chambers therein. The chamber receives cartridges from a magazine parallel to and adjacent the barrel in one rotated position and in another rotated position presents the cartridges projectile end foremost to the rear end of the barrel.

Abstract: A powder element for ammunition not having a shell formed from a cup-shaped pressed propellant powder block with a priming agent mounted on the bottom wall thereof within the cavity defined by the cup-shaped block, and an anvil type propellant charge block, which extends at least partially into the cavity in a substantially mating relationship and abuts the priming agent.

Abstract: A tubular firearm in which a striker is guided in the bore of a bottom section of the cartridge chamber housing while the bottom section has a longitudinal bore therein with a chamber for receiving and storing a viscous fluid. A striker is reciprocable in the longitudinal bore and is provided with recess means while means, for instance a cam, is operatively connected to the striker for moving the same from a starting position to a striking position. The arrangement is such that when the striker occupies its starting position, the recess means are located within the region of the chamber adapted to receive and store viscous fluid. According to an embodiment of the invention, the striker is connected with an impact member through a joint having three degrees of freedom.

Abstract: A weapon having a tiltable cartridge chamber with sealing rings at opposite ends of the cartridge chamber for sealing engagement with the weapon barrel and with a head. A clamping lever is tiltably mounted on the chamber and is connected to the sealing rings for movement of the sealing rings to and from sealing position. A compensating mechanism is interposed between the lever and the sealing rings so that when one sealing ring seats, movement of the lever can continue and advance the other ring into seated position.
