  • Publication number: 20220383770
Abstract: A literacy development device includes a light source that provides a general white illumination area and an adjustable light within the illumination area, both from the same light source. The adjustable light can be changed in shape and color through a LCD screen provided within the device. The device contains a rechargeable battery and various buttons for changing functions, light parameters, and other controls. The device is preferably usable in teaching applications, especially with children and other students with learning and/or attention issues. The device is useful in drawing attention to certain areas of a surface that includes written language, including a letter, a group of letters, a word, or a sentence, through use of the adjustable light to highlight, underline, or otherwise draw visual attention to a particular area of the surface within the illumination area.

  • Publication number: 20190126499
Abstract: A folding knife includes a handle and a blade, rotatably connected to the handle with an axial shaft. The handle has two or more parts, together the parts of the handle form a cavity in which the blade is placed in the closed position. The blade has a working sharpened edge and a shank, and rotates about the axial shaft from the closed position, in which the working sharpened edge of the blade is positioned within the cavity, to the open position, in which the working sharpened edge of the blade protrudes from the handle and allows the cutter to be used. One of the parts of the handle includes an additional recess containing a zigzag spring and a hook. One end of the spring is connected to the handle, and its other end is connected to the hook. The hook is pivotally connected to the blade of the knife and transmits to it the force of the stretched spring, which allows the knife to open under the force of compression of the spring.

  • Patent number: 9908245
Abstract: A folding knife, including a handle, with at least two parts connected to form a cavity therebetween, and a blade having a sharpened edge and a tang. The blade is rotatable between an open position and a closed position. The blade defines a first plane inside the cavity. The tang includes a step protrusion and a rounded protrusion. A stop pin restricts movement of the blade in an opening direction. The folding knife also includes a locking member rotatable from a first position, allowing the blade to rotate, to a second position blocking rotation of the blade by engaging one of the tang's protrusions. The engagement of the locking member with the step protrusion of the tang locks the blade in its open position, and the engagement of the locking member with the rounded protrusion of the tang locks the blade in its closed position.

  • Publication number: 20170361473
Abstract: A knife having a blade and a handle. The blade includes at least one cutting edge, a tip and a base. The handle includes a connection mechanism connecting the base of the blade to the handle. The cutting edge of the blade includes a plurality of serrated groups, each serrated group having at least a first arched recess with a first dimension, a second arched recess with a second dimension, and a third arched recess with a third dimension. The second dimension is at least 30% greater than the first dimension, and the third dimension is at least 30% greater than the second dimension. The arched recesses of each serrated group are arranged in ascending order in a direction from the tip of the blade to the handle. Multiple serrated teeth are formed between adjacent arched recesses.

  • Patent number: 9418979
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a method of assembling an array of light emitting diode (LED) dies on a substrate comprising: positioning dies in fluid; exposing the dies to a magnetic force to attract the dies onto magnets that are arranged at pre-determined locations either on or near the substrate; and forming permanent connections between the dies and the substrate thereby constituting an array of LED dies on a substrate.

  • Publication number: 20150251324
Abstract: A folding knife having a rotary blade, a handle and a thumb plate. The rotary blade includes a cutting edge, a non-cutting edge and a tip. The handle is provided with a pivot axis for the blade and is made of two parts connected to each other to form a cavity in which the blade is positioned when the knife is in its closed position. The thumb plate is attached to the non-cutting edge of the blade perpendicularly to the blade. The thumb plate is a flat prism with multiple side facets, two of the facets being elongated and tapering toward the tip of the blade. The flat prism is symmetric or asymmetric with respect to the blade.
