  • Patent number: 8438783
Abstract: An opening mechanism (1) includes a longitudinal guide (3) fixed to the frame of a furniture unit and, for each door (2), a first slide (4) sliding along the longitudinal guide (3), a second slide (5) which carries the door (2) and which slides transversally on the first slide (4) from a retracted position to an extracted position and vice versa and return elements to bring the second slide (5) back to the retracted position. The second slide (5) is able to rotate with respect to the first slide (4) and presents a curved space (8) in which guide elements (7), integral with the first slide (4). The first slide (4) further includes holding elements (10), controlled by a control surface (51) situated in the longitudinal guide (3), able to lock the second slide (5) in the extracted position when the door (2) is open to prevent the second slide (5) from being brought back to the retracted position by the return elements.

  • Patent number: 7707687
Abstract: An opening/closing device for a double flap door of an item of furniture, wherein the top part and the bottom part of the door are not hinged to each other. The device is connected to the furniture item to cause the top part of the door to rotate with respect to the furniture item and an articulated quadrilateral causes the bottom part of the door to rotate with respect to the top part concomitantly with the rotation of the top part of the door with respect to the furniture item. The articulated quadrilateral includes a first and a second arm each having one end hinged to the bottom part of the door and the other end hinged to the device.

  • Patent number: 6336246
Abstract: A mounting mechanism for coplanar doors is of a four-bar linkage type and a door is carried on parallel links or connecting rods, so that it moves parallel to itself from a steady, closed position, through a transitory retracted or extracted position, to an opening position, before or behind another door, and vice-versa. The connecting rods are carried on a sliding carriage unit and a cam compensator unit is provided that ensures carriage movement parallel to a door plane, for part of the way, when the door is moved between its closed position and a retracted or extracted intermediate position, by rotation of the connecting rods, so that the resultant door movement is basically at right-angles to the door plane.

  • Publication number: 20010039762
Abstract: A movement device for pieces of furniture, for articulating a door with respect to a stationary structure, comprises a first articulation element (12; 12a . . . ) linked to the door and pivotable with respect to the stationary structure, and a second articulation element (14) hinged to the stationary structure, the ends of said two articulation elements being hinged together, the first articulation element having an elastically variable extension, so that said two elements may assume with respect to one another a stable retracted position and a stable extended position, passing through a succession of unstable positions, and further comprises adjusting means (30; 30a; 30b . . . ) for adjusting the distance between an axis (a16) of the hinge between the two elements and a rotation axis (a13) of the second element with respect to the stationary structure.

  • Patent number: 5996282
Abstract: The mechanism comprises longitudinal rails and, for each door, a double slide assembly of which a first slide slides along the rails and a second slide, constrained to the door, moves at right angles to the first slide between a retracted position in which the door is closed and an extracted position in which the door is opened, at a distance from said first position at least equal to the thickness of the door or a multiple thereof. A longitudinal traverse of the slide assembly is allowed only when the second slide is in the extracted position with respect to the first. The retracted position is forced by spring means between the second slide and the first slide. The width of the slide assembly is smaller than the width of the door, generally being half, a third or a quarter thereof.

  • Patent number: 5980005
Abstract: A structural assembly for forming furniture units is composed of horizontal structural elements (10,50) in the form of metal sections, vertical structural elements (101, 102, 103) in the form of panels, and jointing devices to join together said elements. The metal sections are hollow or have at least some hollow portions communicating with the outside. The metal joining devices (20,30) comprise a head of a suitable size to be accommodated inside the metal sections, preferably in a nonrotating manner, and a shank for engagement with a wood panel. The head of the joining device comprises a through hole having a stem extending along a diameter thereof that can be gripped by a conventional cam clamping device. The joining device can also include two aligned heads and a cavity forming a seat for a head of another joining device. The assembly makes it possible to create wardrobes, or furniture units in general, that do not have any visible metal parts on the inside.

  • Patent number: 5815648
Abstract: A method for changing the cache mode of a volume in response to user commands or detection of a failure within the storage system. Specifically, the method applies the new cache mode to all newly issued I/O requests, while retaining the old cache mode for previously unfinished or queued I/O requests. The method incorporates a cache mode field to the I/O request data structure. The cache mode field specifies the cache mode to be used for that I/O request. The method initializes the I/O request cache mode field with the value of the cache mode field of the corresponding target volume. When the cache mode of a volume is changed, all subsequent I/O requests to the volume are tagged with the new cache mode in their cache mode field. However, previous I/0 requests will retain the former cache mode and will be completed using the former cache mode.

  • Patent number: 5346349
Abstract: A fastening device comprises a hollow box-shaped container-guide (12) inside which a shaft-like fastening member is rotatably received. The fastening member is provided with at least one projecting, eccentric tongue (24), which is inclined with respect to the axis (a) of the shaft, or is preferably shaped according to a section of a helicoid. The fastening member is rotatable between a position in which the locking tongue (24) is contained inside the hollow container (12) and a position in which it projects from it to grip into the walls of a hole which receives the container, or against the wall of a panel. A head (22) of the fastening member (14) can be maneuvered from the outside and has two abutments which collaborate with abutments integral with a head (18) of the container in order to define the completely retracted position of the tongue or tongues and the completely extracted position of the same. The container can be realized in various forms.
