  • Publication number: 20220071618
Abstract: The present invention in the area of medical devices, for prostate and urethral surgery, namely providing anastomosis between the bladder and the urethra of a patient. It is an object of the invention a surgical needle guiding rod (1), which his solid and comprises a proximal portion (2) and a distal portion (3), a first opening (11) and a second opening (12) being formed in the surface of the distal portion (3) thereby forming a channel (4) through the solid rod (1) between the two openings, the channel (4) being such that it allows a surgical needle to pass by entering the one of the two openings and exiting the other opening. The rod (1) of the present invention thus is solid, only requiring the channel (4) between the two openings formed in the distal portion (3) to provide for suturing of urethral-bladder tissues and thereby facilitating the anastomosis procedure.

  • Publication number: 20220071973
Abstract: The present invention is enclosed in the medical area, specifically within the area of lubricant gels for trans-urethral procedures, referring to a gel pharmaceutical composition with an anaesthetic effect of short and long duration, for being administered through the urethra. It is an object of the present invention a gel composition with an anaesthetic effect of short and long term duration for administration through the urethra which comprises a lubricant gel, at least one local short duration anaesthetic composition and at least one local long duration anaesthetic composition which comprises ropivacaine or bupivacaine. The presence of between a long-acting anaesthetic composition in the lubricant gel of the present invention, combined with a short-term acting anaesthetic composition, provides an enormous asset to existing products, because of the immediate and substantially superior and longer-lasting well-being of patients.

  • Publication number: 20220072284
Abstract: The invention is enclosed in the area of multi-way urethral catheters suitable for draining urine or blood from the bladder of a patient. The invention comprises a tube for a urethral catheter (1) comprising at least three channels, wherein an instillation opening (2), at least one drainage opening (3), and a distal balloon (4) are formed in the tube and connected to different channels, the distal balloon (4) is formed in the tip of the tube and the instillation opening (2) is arranged in such a way that instillation liquid exiting such opening directly hits the distal balloon (4), when the distal balloon (4) is inflated. The relative positioning of the instillation opening (2) and the distal balloon (4), combined with the distal balloon (4) positioned in the tip of the tube, provide that instillation liquid exiting the opening is spread through the bladder, after hitting the distal balloon (4).

  • Patent number: 8808783
Abstract: A method for making a snack product having a target shape from expandable pellets is disclosed. The snack product is formed into a target shape by expanding the pellets inside a mold. As the pellets expand inside the mold, the mold walls restrain the pellets expansion in the direction normal to the mold wall surface. The pellets also adhere to one another as they expand. An edible binder material can be included to facilitate such adherence.

  • Publication number: 20070166906
Abstract: The present invention pertains to formation of a transistor in a manner that mitigates overlap capacitances, thereby facilitating, among other things, enhanced switching speeds. More particularly, a gate stack of the transistor is formed to include an optional layer of poly-SiGe and a layer of poly-Si, where at least one or the layers comprises carbon. The stack may also include a polysilicon seed layer that can also comprise carbon. The carbon changes the components of sidewall passivation materials and affects etch rates during an etching process, thereby facilitating isotropic etching. The changed passivation materials coupled with an enhanced sensitivity of the poly-SiGe and carbon-doped poly-SiGe layer to an etchant utilized in the etching process causes the stack to have a notched appearance.

  • Publication number: 20060073650
Abstract: The present invention facilitates semiconductor fabrication by providing methods of fabrication that selectively apply tensile strain to channel regions of devices while mitigating masking operations employed. A cap poly layer is formed over NMOS and PMOS regions of a semiconductor device. Then, a resist mask is employed to remove a portion of the cap poly layer from the PMOS region. Subsequently, the same resist mask and/or remaining portion of the cap poly layer is employed to form source/drain regions within the PMOS region by implanting a p-type dopant. Afterward, a cap poly thermal process is performed that causes tensile strain to be induced only in channel regions of devices located within the NMOS region. As a result, channel mobility and/or performance of devices located in the PMOS region is not substantially degraded.
