  • Publication number: 20190200190
Abstract: A method of communicating from a first vehicle to a second vehicle, the method including: recognizing from the first vehicle a license plate of the second vehicle; generating a messaging address of the second vehicle based on the recognized license plate of the second vehicle; and transmitting from the first vehicle a message to the messaging address of the second vehicle. Recognizing the license plate may include recognizing a state of the license plate and a license-plate number of the license plate. The generated messaging address of the second vehicle may include both the state of the license plate and the license-plate number.

  • Patent number: 10010462
Abstract: A foot support connected to the frame of a wheelchair having a housing having a primary end located opposite a secondary end with a central bore. The central bore of the housing retains a rod. The housing has at least one opening. The opening of the housing reveals a revealed portion of the rod when the rod slidably traverses at least a portion of the length of the housing. A support structure is in communication with the revealed portion of the rod. The support structure supports the weight of a user's feet when a user is seated in the wheelchair. The support structure slidably traverses the length of the opening of the housing. When the support structure is oriented in a position located under the seat of the wheelchair, the rod is retracted within the central bore of the housing located substantially near the secondary end of the housing.

  • Publication number: 20170011628
Abstract: A traffic light replicator which includes a display unit on the back of a large vehicle, such as a bus or truck, which displays the mode of operation of an upcoming stoplight such that a vehicle located behind the large vehicle may be made aware of the mode of operation of the stoplight when the stoplight has been obstructed from the view of the smaller vehicle. The traffic light replicator includes a control unit, a camera, and a display unit having multiple display lights. The control unit receives a signal from the camera indicating the mode of operation of the stoplight, and the control unit then commands the display unit to activate one of the display lights to correspond to the mode of operation of the stoplight, so as to alert the driver of a vehicle located behind the large vehicle of the current mode of operation of the stoplight.

  • Patent number: 5893983
Abstract: A technique for polishing an exposed surface of metal on a substrate to remove defects from mechanical working of metals, such as burrs and pigtails resulting from drilling, and defects from plating, such as nodules and depressions, is provided. The substrate has an exposed metal surface such as copper thereon which is to be treated to remove defects. A planarizing or polishing head, preferably a rotating roller, is provided which is continuously rotating with respect to the substrate, with the head in contact with the metal surface on the substrate. A chemical etchant, essentially free of abrasive material, is continuously supplied to the interface between the metal surface and the head. The treating and polishing continues until the defects have been removed or reduced to an acceptable value. In some instances where significant height reduction is required, thus requiring significant metal removal, several passes of the substrate may be required or a device with multiple heads may be used.
