    Abstract: The present invention is directed to a growth medium support plate including an essential planar body part extending therefrom. The growth medium support plate also includes a stem member for connecting a cap to the support plate. The stem member is connected to the body part so as to have a position co-planar with the body part and a position inclined to the plane of the body part. The support plate includes at least one fixed projection extending from and co-planar with said body part adjacently to the stem member and the stem member having in the position coplanar with the body part a releasable connection to the at least one fixed projection.

    Abstract: The invention relates to a closure device and a method for performing an assay of a sample using the closure device. The closure device, mountable on the mouth of a test vessel, comprises a body part (1) with an axially passing cylindrical bore. The bore is covered at one end with an openable lid (7). The closure device further includes a plunger (3), slidably mounted in the bore for the formation of a sealed reagent storage chamber (9) in the space remaining between the closed lid and the plunger. The inner wall of the bore (2) is provided with at least one groove (4), whose depth is so deep as not to be within the reach of the outer diameter of the plunger (3). The groove extends from exterior end of the bore, over such a length as to maintain a gas flow communication between said reagent storage chamber (9) and the exterior end of the cylindrical bore when the plunger (3) is in a partially inserted position.

    Abstract: A valve for use in connection with aerosol spacers to be mounted on a metered dose inhaler, characterized in that the valve comprises a frame portion (1) one end of which can be attached to the chamber portion of known aerosol spacers and its other end constitutes a mouthpiece having an air outlet aperture (4) for expiratory air and an air inlet aperture (6) for the air to be inhaled via the inhaler chamber, and a flap (3) which is to be fitted inside the mouthpiece and slides freely in the direction of the longitudinal axis of the mouthpiece so that, upon inhalation, it will open the air inlet aperture (6) and close the air outlet aperture (4) and upon exhalation, it will close the air outlet aperture (4), and upon exhalation, it will open the air outlet aperture (4) and close the air inlet aperture (6).
