  • Publication number: 20140083280
Abstract: A user interface implemented on a touch-sensitive display for a virtual musical instrument comprising a plurality of chord touch regions configured in a predetermined sequence, each chord touch region corresponding to a chord in a musical key and being divided into a plurality of separate touch zones, the plurality of chord touch regions defining a predetermined set of chords, where each of the plurality of separate touch zones in each region is associated with one or more preselected MIDI files stored in a computer-readable medium. Each of the plurality of touch zones is configured to detect one or more of a plurality of touch gesture articulations including at least one of a legato articulation, a pizzicato articulation, or a staccato articulation. The one or more of the plurality of touch gesture articulations determines the preselected MIDI file associated with each of the plurality of separate touch zones.

  • Publication number: 20140080479
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for suspending session state during hybrid network operation. In one exemplary embodiment, a cellular device uses a single-radio solution to support circuit-switched calls on a CDMA 1× network and packet-switched calls on LTE. Periodically, the cellular device tunes away from LTE and monitors CDMA 1× activity, and vice versa. During these tuned-away periods, the client device may suspend operation on the tuned away network for extended tune away intervals.

  • Publication number: 20140055409
Abstract: An input device providing integrated contact switch and touch sensor elements is disclosed. A contact switch and touch sensor can be integrated so that they share a common sensor line, achieving space, cost and manufacturing savings over input devices that utilize distinct sensor lines for each of its sensor elements. By configuring a contact switch and touch sensor to share a common sensor line, a controller can use a single pin to scan both the contact switch and touch sensor elements, rather than using distinct pins to scan distinct sensor lines associated with each sensor element. By using fewer pins to scan the same number of sensor elements, a smaller controller can be used which can reduce the size and cost of the input device, and increase manufacturing throughput time associated with the input device.

  • Publication number: 20140050080
Abstract: A technique for operating a wireless communication device includes transmitting a first downlink rate in a first control message. The first downlink rate is based on a latency of an inter-processor communication link associated with the wireless communication device. First downlink data at the first downlink rate is then received for a first time period. Following the first time period, second downlink data is received at a second downlink rate that is higher than the first downlink rate.

  • Publication number: 20140026031
Abstract: The present invention integrates applets running on a client with the application logic for applications running on a server. In the described embodiments, a hidden Applet Group Controller applet handles communication between the applets on the browser and the application logic on the server. The Applet Group Controller maintains an association with each applet that includes the keys and values of any parameters and variables for the applet. Upon the invocation of an event, the association instructs an Action Coordinator to invoke an action. The Action Coordinator obtains and transmits a list of all of the keys and their values to the server. The server invokes the appropriate application logic and transmits the keys and their values (as updated during the execution of the application logic) back to the Action Coordinator, which pushes the updated values out to the applets and the browser's display is updated.

  • Publication number: 20140019673
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for dynamically allocating a number of bits per cell to memory locations of a non-volatile memory (“NVM”) device. In some embodiments, a host may determine whether to store data in the NVM device using SLC programming or MLC programming operations. The host may allocate an erased block as an SLC block or MLC block based on this determination regardless of whether the erased block was previously used as an SLC block, MLC block, or both. In some embodiments, to dynamically allocate a memory location as SLC or MLC, the host may provide an address vector to the NVM package, where the address vector may specify the memory location and the number of bits per cell to use for that memory location.
