  • Publication number: 20240070335
Abstract: A method and system provide the ability to design a space in a computer-aided design (CAD) application. A 3D model is acquired. The space is designed by defining Elements including a parent and a child element. Each Element encapsulates a geometric model, and consists of metadata that provides a summary of contents in each Element that enables an outside process to handle each Element without access to the encapsulated geometric model. An arbitrary logic Program is structured to generate a list of the child Elements. The 3D model is edited and updated in real time. During the updating, the Program is reexecuted to update the child elements while attempting to conserve a hierarchical structure of the Elements. The updated 3D model is provided via a graphical user interface that enables editing of the geometric model and the Elements in the space.

  • Publication number: 20230339509
Abstract: Techniques and mechanisms for pull-over site selection for an autonomous vehicle. Simulation information is received from an external source. The simulation information corresponds to multiple simulations involving a virtual autonomous vehicle and available pull-over locations for the virtual autonomous vehicle. An indication to cause the autonomous vehicle to search for a pull-over location is received. Potential pull-over locations are analyzed in response to the indication. The potential pull-over locations are compared to simulated pull-over locations to identify a selected pull-over location. The autonomous vehicle navigates the selected pull-over location. The autonomous vehicle stops at the selected pull-over location.

  • Patent number: 11507859
Abstract: In an example, a computer-implemented method to structure an analytical workflow that improves reasoning based on a problem context and demonstrated abilities of each individual user may include displaying a reasoning problem to an analyst. The method may include receiving input from the analyst to identify a reasoning problem type of the reasoning problem. providing a recommended analytic approach for the reasoning problem type to the analyst. The method may include assisting the analyst in analyzing and evaluating one or more information sources relevant to the reasoning problem. The method may include guiding the analyst through a structured technique (ST) to support reasoning of the analyst in formulation of a solution to the reasoning problem. The method may include generating a report that includes the analyst's solution to the reasoning problem based on input from the analyst.

  • Patent number: 11338734
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a method performed by an intention indicating system of a vehicle, for indicating to a potential vehicle occupant thereof an ongoing or impending autonomous kinematic action of the vehicle. The intention indicating system determines an ongoing or impending autonomous kinematic action of the vehicle. The intention indicating system further provides, with support from a light providing device including one or more light sources adapted to emit light, which light providing device is provided continuously and/or intermittently along a majority of a horizontal circumference of the vehicle, a visual light output visible at least from an inside of said vehicle representing the autonomous kinematic action. The disclosure also relates to an intention indicating system in accordance with the foregoing, and further to a vehicle including such an intention indicating system.

  • Patent number: 9777975
Abstract: A semiautomatic firearm is presented that is a combination of known parts from the AR-15 style firearms and AK-47 style firearms and new parts. The firearm includes a receiver and a removable trunnion inserted into the receiver. A barrel is threaded and pinned into the trunnion and an adjustable gas block is connected to the barrel. The gas block includes a gas bore and an adjustable member that extends into and out of the gas bore thereby adjusting the amount of gases that travel through the gas block. The firearm also includes a foregrip installed over the barrel and gas block. The foregrip has a pattern of venting openings therein and an opening that provides access to the adjustable member of the gas block as well as a top rail and a bottom rail. The combination of these components provides a semiautomatic firearm that operates smoothly while being rugged and durable.

  • Patent number: 8720239
Abstract: An improved method of rotating the lockrod of a tool storage unit to the “locked” or “unlocked” position by use of a linear actuator to rotate the lockrod actuator, where the linear actuator operates electrically, allowing for control by any remotely or automatically operated system. The tool storage unit locking mechanisms include a center-neutral key position that rotates 90 degrees in either direction from center to lock and unlock the unit. This design allows a standard key to operate the locking mechanism, but also allows a secondary mechanism (such as an electromagnetically driven mechanism) to directly operate the lock. Due to its specifics, the design would also allow for retrofitability.

  • Publication number: 20120126161
Abstract: The invention is an improved valve having a valve body, a valve stem having a valve plug portion and a valve stem portion, and a valve guide having an aperture in which the valve stem portion is received for reciprocal movement of the valve stem longitudinally inside the valve body. A valve seat is supported in the valve body and includes a pair of spaced apart circular valve seat surfaces that each sealingly engage a separate surface of the valve plug portion;. A spring biases the valve plug portion into sealing engagement with the valve seat. The valve seat has a pair of sealing surfaces that are brought in sealing engagement with distinct surface portions of the valve stem to provide improved and redundant sealing function. The valve has improved longevity and reliability.
