  • Publication number: 20060278336
Abstract: A method for the treatment of wood or wood products, in which method moist wood or wood products (1) are dried by first pressing and further by heating so that a desired degree of dryness is reached. In a first stage, the wood or wood products (1) arranged between treating elements (2) are pressed between the treating elements (2) so that a considerable amount of water is removed from the wood being treated, next the treating elements (2) are locked so that the wood or wood products (1) remain compressed between the treating elements (2), and the combination of treating elements (2) and wood or wood products (1) between them thus formed is moved into a drying chamber (D), where the wood or wood products are dried further by applying heat. The invention also relates to an apparatus.

  • Patent number: 7006579
Abstract: The transmit diversity and symbol rate in a wireless mobile system are increased by allocating the complex symbols to be transmitted in accordance with a time-space slot format that incorporates non-orthogonal-based matrices, defined as matrices whose format is such that the product of the matrix and its Hermitian transpose is other than the identity matrix times a real number other than unity. The non-orthogonal-based matrices are indexed by antenna and by symbol period. Copies and complex conjugates (or negative complex conjugates) of the same symbol that are transmitted from different antennas are mutually separated into non-adjacent parts of the slot. Each non-orthogonal-based “space-time” matrix is composed of orthogonal-based matrices, i.e., matrices other than non-orthogonal-based matrices. Preferably, sequences of complex conjugates are time-reversed in the slot.

  • Publication number: 20050255805
Abstract: A data transmission system and a data transmission method between two transceivers are provided. At least one of the transceivers employs more than one radiation patterns for transmitting and receiving a signal. The symbols to be transmitted are divided into blocks, which are encoded using a first space-time coding and one block is transmitted from each radiation pattern. The receiver checks whether retransmission is required and then transmits a retransmission message to the transmitter and stores at least some of the blocks in a memory. The transmitter encodes at least some of the same blocks using a second space-time coding and retransmits the blocks. The receiver receives the blocks using one or more antennas and performs a combined detection or decoding with the blocks in the memory.
