  • Publication number: 20190369755
Abstract: In accordance with some embodiments, a method is performed at an electronic device. The method includes in response to detecting that the stylus is proximate to the electronic device, pairing the electronic device with the stylus. The method includes in response to pairing the stylus with the electronic device: displaying, on the display, a first representation of a first gesture performed on the stylus; obtaining finger manipulation data from the stylus via the communication interface, wherein the finger manipulation data indicates a finger manipulation input received by the stylus; and in response to obtaining the finger manipulation data, displaying, on the display, a second representation of a second gesture performed on the stylus corresponding to the finger manipulation input received by the stylus.

  • Patent number: 10460024
Abstract: Techniques for assisting users electronic forms. One exemplary technique involves initiating a workflow assistant based on user input of the user or a predetermined triggering event to prompt the user to complete the electronic form. The workflow assistant downloads or obtains the electronic form based on a user response and identifies a workflow based on the electronic form. The workflow identifies a sequence of user interactions to complete the electronic form. Identifying the workflow includes developing, based on fields in the electronic form, requests for content of fields from the user and possible predicted answer choices for the content of each of the fields. The workflow assistant then executes the workflow to conduct the user interactions to obtain the content for the fields of the electronic form to complete the electronic form.

  • Patent number: 10445419
Abstract: Techniques for assisting a user with completing an electronic form via a computing device are described. For example, the user operates the computing device to populate fields of the electronic form. Rather than presenting the electronic form at the computing device in order to populate the fields, a form filling engine reformulates the electronic form into a set of input requests. The form filling engine is local or remote to the computing device. Each input request, when presented, provides guidance about at least one field and solicit a user response that is proper for that field. The form filling engine presents the input requests via the computing device one at a time to solicit the user responses. Data from the user responses are used by the form filling engine to populate the fields of the electronic form.

  • Publication number: 20190258893
Abstract: In various implementations, a computing device is configured to provide a live preview of salient contours generated on a live digital video feed. In particular, a designer can use a computing device with a camera, such as a smart phone, to view a real-time preview of salient contours generated from edges detected in frames of a live digital video feed prior to capture, thereby eliminating the unpredictability of salient contours generated from a previously captured image. In some implementations, the salient contours are overlaid on a greyscale conversion of the live digital video feed for improved processing and visual contrast. Other implementations modify aspects of edge-detecting or post-processing filters for improved performance on mobile computing devices.

  • Patent number: 10353576
Abstract: An electronic device, with a display, a touch-sensitive surface, one or more processors and memory, displays a first representation of a first controllable external device, where the first controllable external device is situated at a location. The device detects a first user input corresponding to a selection of the first representation of the first controllable external device. The device, after detecting the first user input, adds data identifying the first controllable external device and a first state of the first controllable external device in a scene profile.

  • Patent number: 10331333
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide systems, methods, and computer storage media directed to a touch digital ruler. As such, a particular drawing stroke on a canvas or background can be drawn in alignment with a template irrespective of whether a touch path input by a user aligns with the template. In some implementations, a drawing stroke is aligned with a template edge when the touch digital ruler has been activated despite the location of a user's motion on a touchscreen display.

  • Publication number: 20180341448
Abstract: In accordance with some embodiments, a method is performed at an electronic device with a display, radio frequency (RF) circuitry, and one or more input devices. The device displays a first user interface on the display. While displaying the first user interface, the device detects a pairing request to pair a first peripheral with the electronic device. In response to detecting the pairing request, the device determines whether the first peripheral meets coupling criteria, wherein the coupling criteria require that the first peripheral is coupled to a second peripheral. In accordance with a determination that the first peripheral meets the coupling criteria, the device displays a pairing affordance that initiates pairing of the electronic device with the first peripheral. In accordance with a determination that the first peripheral does not meet the coupling criteria, the device displays information concerning coupling of the first peripheral and the second peripheral.
