  • Publication number: 20220232876
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for inducing satiety in a person, said method comprising administering to the person a composition comprising lipid, protein and digestible carbohydrates; wherein the lipid comprises: i. 30 to 90 wt. % vegetable fat, and ii. 10 to 70 wt. % mammalian milk fat, wherein all wt. % are based on total lipid of the composition; characterized in that the lipid is present in the form of lipid globules with the volume % of lipid globules with a diameter below 2 ?m is above 60%.

  • Publication number: 20040097429
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for the treatment and/or prevention of overweight and to a method for the reduction of a mammalian appetite. The present method comprises the administration to the mammal of a dosage containing an effective amount of a flavonoid selected from the group consisting of chrysin, flavone, precursors of these flavonoids that are convertible into the one of these flavonoids by gastrointestinal hydrolytic cleavage and mixtures thereof.

  • Patent number: 6638542
Abstract: Procyanidin, optionally combined with hydroxycitric acid, is used in a method for the reduction of appetite in a mammal. Preferably procyanidin is administered to the mammal in a dosage of between 0.5 and 100 mg per kg bodyweight. Also shown is a process for the manufacture of an appetite reducing composition.

  • Publication number: 20030113310
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of treating or preventing obesity, overweight, fluctuations in blood insulin levels and/or fluctuations in blood glucose levels in mammals. The method acording to the invention comprises the enteral administration to a mammal of an effective amount of a preparation containing an enzyme capable of converting an ingested carbohydrate or digestion product thereof into one or more absorbable components, wherein the total metabolic caloric value of the absorbable component(s) is less than the metabolic caloric value of the ingested carbohydrate or digestion product thereof. Thus the present invention effectively provides a method that allows complete digestion of ingested digestible carbohydrates whilst at the same time reducing the actual metabolic caloric value of said ingested carbohydrates.
