  • Publication number: 20080292170
Abstract: A method is disclosed for scattered radiation correction in an X-ray computed tomography system having at least two tube-detector systems. It is provided, according to at least one embodiment, to make use of a data record that includes data projections required for the reconstruction and a prescribed number of first scattered radiation projections. Respective scattered radiation components for the scattered radiation correction of all data projections are determined on the basis of the first scattered radiation projections and second scattered radiation projections determined therefrom.

  • Patent number: 6711738
Abstract: In a method for replacing technologically aging sub-systems and software in a system of which the sub-systems are components, a data bank is maintained by a service provider for each customer. In the data bank, the sub-system currently installed at the customer is indicated. Before replacing a part of a sub-system, the data bank is interrogated to determine whether, dependent on the age class of the sub-system, the entire sub-system should be replaced. If so, replacement of the entire sub-system is undertaken, and the data bank is updated. Similarly, before upgrading software for a customer's sub-system, the data bank is interrogated to determine whether replacement of the sub-system is required, given the age class of the sub-system. If so, the sub-system is replaced and software appropriate for the replaced sub-system is then installed.

  • Patent number: 6044125
Abstract: In a method for the post-processing of a tomogram, and a computed tomography apparatus operating according to this method, a universal computer is employed for post-processing of a reconstructed tomogram of a slice of an examination subject, the tomogram representing the entire field of measurement of the computed tomography apparatus or a segment of the field of measurement. The post-processing employs an adaptive ring suppression filter, in which the pixel values of a region comprising the entire tomogram or a part of the tomogram are subjected to, among other things, one or more median filterings, and an averaging, with the median filterings and the averaging take place along a number of directions of execution, and the calculation of the pixel values of the region takes place so that the pixel values of successive pixels in the each processing direction are calculated successively.

  • Patent number: 5604778
Abstract: A spiral scan computed tomography apparatus has multiple x-ray sources with their respective foci symmetrically arranged on a circle concentric with a measurement field around which the x-ray sources are rotated in order to spirally scan an examination subject while a relative motion between the x-ray sources and a patient support is produced along a longitudinal direction of the patient support. X-rays attenuated by the examination subject are detected by a stationary detector ring, or by a number of detector arrays which co-rotate with the x-ray sources on the gantry. The scan time can thereby be decreased in comparison to known systems or, within the same scan time a higher x-ray power can be achieved.

  • Patent number: 5530731
Abstract: A computed tomography method and apparatus conduct a spiral scan of a subject wherein non-uniformities of noise and topical resolution are greatly reduced. A power spectrum S.sub.o for interpolated projections is identified, from which a frequency characteristic H(f,.theta.), of an optimum filter for the projections interpolated from complementary data is determined, with ##EQU1## with .sigma..sub.o.sup.2 being the variance of the quantum noise associated with a projection and w(.theta.) being the spiral weighting.
