    Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for intermittent ultrasonic processing of a length of material, wherein a length of material is moved through between a sonotrode and a counter-tool and the length of material is processed intermittently. In order to specify a method for intermittent ultrasonic processing of a length of material by which the disadvantages of the prior art can be avoided or at least reduced, according to the invention it is suggested that in a processing interval the sonotrode is stimulated by an ultrasonic oscillation with an oscillation amplitude A and in a movement interval the sonotrode is stimulated with an oscillation amplitude B, wherein B<A and during the processing interval and during the movement interval the length of material touches both the sonotrode and also the counter-tool.

The inventive rotor and the stator are provided with pins which are distributed through all surface thereof and projected to the grinding chamber.

    Abstract: An agitator mill has an arrangement for diminishing the pressure of the attritive elements towards the outlet. This arrangement comprises particularly means for generating a force pointing away from at least one separator opening forming a passage for the product, but retaining the attritive elements within the milling container. This force affects substantially selectively only the attritive elements. According to one embodiment, this force acts upon the attritive elements in counter-direction to the direction of flow of the product. The force may either be a centrifugal force acting selectively onto the relative large mass of the attritive element or a magnetic force acting selectively upon steel balls, iron balls or the like used as attritive elements.

    Abstract: An agitator mill for treating a liquid containing material particles for example for dispersing paint pigment in a mixture of solvent and binder basically comprises a milling vessel containing freely movable milling bodies and with an inlet and outlet for said liquid, stirrer mechanism within the milling vessel and an electric stirrer motor for driving the stirrer mechanism. The mill features, for the purpose of obtaining optimum operating efficiency, a control circuit which regulates the stirrer motor current to a constant value by adjustment of a pump supplying the liquid to the milling vessel and/or a volume controller for controlling the volume of milling bodies within the milling vessel or the volume of the milling vessel and a temperature control circuit which controls the operating temperature in the milling vessel to lie at a constant value. Various variants and control possibilities including the use of a computer are set forth together with methods of controlling the agitator mill.

    Abstract: A heavy duty agitator ball mill for continuous grinding and dispersion of material suspended in a liquid has an upright rotor made of aligned rotor ring elements, mounted for rotation within a stator which preferably is also made up of aligned stator ring elements. Rotor and stator form a grinding chamber between them which holds a charge of grinding balls. Agitator members extend into the grinding chamber both from the rotor and from the stator. Both rotor and stator have cooling channels for flow of coolant, bounded in part by ribs formed on rotor and stator and hence promoting heat conduction. Working surfaces are of hard wearing materials as is made possible by the construction. The ring elements are readily replaceable, as are hard inserts of the agitator members.
