  • Patent number: 6877733
Abstract: The device for the processing of bank notes has a modular design. The device includes a feeder unit having at least one drivable feeding roller, an inlet for supporting bank note-like objects and from which the bank note-like objects are moved into contact with the at least one drivable feeding roller under a pressure force, at least one transport roller, at least one movable pressure roller that is urged in the direction of the transport roller by retro-acting forces, and at least one retaining roller located opposite the transport roller. When a first one of the bank note-like objects comes into contact with the feeding roller under the pressure force, the first one of the bank note-like objects is accelerated such that the first one of the bank note-like objects moves between the transport roller and the pressure roller.

  • Patent number: 6820874
Abstract: The device for the processing of bank notes has a modular design. It has at least one inlet (311) and at least one outlet (361.1, 361.2). The device contains a fixed part (1) and interchangeable mobile modules (31-36) each for performing a complete processing function upon the bank note-like objects. The modules (31-36) are pluggable into pins (2.1, 2.2, . . . ) attached to the fixed part (1), so that they are easily insertable, removable or interchangeable. The modules (31-36) are selectable from a set of different modules and are combinable in almost any possible manner, providing a multitude of freely selectable processing sequences. A contact pressure unit may be included within a module transport unit, the contact pressure unit including at least one contact element, at least one reversibly compressible and damping element and at lest one pressure roller wherein forces are produced by the compressible and damping element and act of the pressure roller in the direction of the contact element.

The device contains a fixed part (1) and interchangeable mobile modules (31-36) each for performing a complete processing function upon the bank note-like objects to be processed. The modules (31-36) arc insertable into the fixed part (1) in such a manner, that a desired work sequence for processing the bank notes is performable. To such an extent as is possible, electric lines, components and motors (41) are mounted on the fixed part (1); the forces and/or torques required by the modules (31-36) are transmitted to the modules by means of transmission (51,1, 52.1). The modules (31-36) are pluggable into pins (2.1, 2.2, . . . ) attached to the fixed part (1), so that they are easily insertable, removable or interchangeable.

  • Patent number: 4771759
Abstract: A slicing machine in which a workpiece rod is disposed without cutting base on a table of the machine and it may be brought by means of a feeding slide step by step into a working position in the range of action of an inner cutting-off wheel. For removing the severed slices of arbitrary thickness, a vacuum chuck with a crown of suction nozzles is connected through a ball joint capable to be locked with a support and a horizontal slide. By shifting the horizontal slide and when the ball joint is loosened, the vacuum chuck may be put against the rod with a definite force and oriented, and then the ball joint is locked so that the vacuum chuck is rigidly maintained in the oriented position. The pressure force of the vacuum chuck may be recleared and the vacuum chuck with its support may be clamped with the vacuum chuck in the released position. This permits a clear, proper slicing of the rod without danger of breaks at the time when the separation takes place.
