  • Publication number: 20170064860
Abstract: Methods and systems provide the automatic tracking of the physical location of information technology components in a data center. These systems automatically identify where a given IT component, such as a server, router, switch or other device, is located. They automatically identify which slot the IT component is located in a given rack in the data center. When a server is added or removed from a particular slot, the tracking database is automatically notified and updated, and users of the database have instantaneously accurate information about the location of each IT component in a data center. If the server is changed to a different slot or rack, the system immediately identifies that the given server or device is located in a different location. Users can rely on the information in the database when remotely managing the data center's IT assets.

  • Publication number: 20160269235
Abstract: Infrastructure management device housing a multitude of serial ports and communicatively connected over a network may configure IT device(s) communicatively connected over a communications interface. The infrastructure management device may discover and/or cluster IT device(s). An IT device information may be indexed and searched based criteria applied to the IT device index. Action(s) may be performed on one or more IT device(s), determined at least in part, by an IT device information.

  • Publication number: 20160149790
Abstract: Infrastructure management device(s) may monitor IT device(s) communicatively connected over a network. IT device state(s) may be determined for at least one of the IT device(s). Action(s) may be performed on one or more IT device(s), determined at least in part, by the state of the IT device(s).

  • Publication number: 20160105317
Abstract: Infrastructure management device(s) may discover IT device(s) communicatively connected over a network. IT device information may be determined for at least one of the IT device(s). Configuration rule(s) compatible with IT device information may be matched to IT device(s). Action(s) may be performed on one or more device inventories, determined at least in part, by the configuration rule(s). Feature gap(s) for IT device(s) may be determined. IT device neutral user interface command(s) may be created.

  • Patent number: 8656086
Abstract: A background scheduler is provided that utilizes low-level communications (e.g., communications with a generic or controller-specific solid state, non-volatile memory driver) to control locking, reading, rewriting and unlocking of pages of data in the non-volatile memory. Such low-level communications cause data to be rewritten to the non-volatile memory independent of the file system in an effort to avoid data loss prior to an estimated data retention period.

  • Publication number: 20140039683
Abstract: A data center infrastructure management (DCIM) system having an infrastructure control fabric (ICF) subsystem for enabling a manager component of an independent computing device to communicate directly with the DCIM system. The DCIM system, in one embodiment, may have a manageability subsystem engine for monitoring data being transmitted from the independent computing device. A domain model may be included that has an extension relating to information on the independent computing device. A services server may be used which provides a shared services infrastructure layer.
