  • Patent number: 10017939
Abstract: A construction for effectively thermally insulating and sealing of a safing slot between a floor of a building and an exterior wall construction is disclosed. The exterior wall construction includes a curtain wall configuration defined by an interior wall glass surface including one or more aluminum framing members, where the vision glass extends to the finished floor level below. The thermally insulating and sealing system includes an offset leg framing element for receiving the insulating elements and positioned in the zero spandrel area of a glass curtain wall construction including only vision glass to maintain thermally insulating and sealing of the safing slot during exposure to fire and heat in order to maintain a complete seal extending across the safing slot.

  • Patent number: 9869086
Abstract: Described is a construction for effectively thermally insulating and sealing of a safing slot between a floor of a building and an exterior wall construction wherein the exterior wall construction comprises a curtain wall configuration utilizing an interior panel module design. The Thermal insulating and sealing means includes a supplemental insulation means positioned above the primary insulation means and attached to the interior panel of a curtain wall construction to maintain thermally insulating and sealing of the safing slot during exposure to fire and heat which can cause the interior panel to deform from heat distorting to an extent beyond the capability of standard safing insulation for expanding in order to maintain a proper seal extending across the safing slot.

  • Patent number: 6477813
Abstract: A fire protection sleeve (1) for a pipeline (4), which extends through an opening (2) in a wall (3), is surrounded circumferentially at least partly by intumescing material (10) contained in a fire-resistant folded fabric tube (5). The fabric tube (5) forms several circumferential, unilateral inner folds (6) and the folds (6) are sewn in each case with a yarn (8), to an opposite side of the tube, and the yarn melts or burns in the event of a fire.

  • Publication number: 20020155240
Abstract: A firestopping sleeve (1, 1′) for a conduit (4) extending through an opening (2) in a wall (3) has the conduit surrounded by a torus shaped fire-proof fabric tube (5) filled with intumescent material (13) which expands in the event of fire and sealingly closes off the opening (2). The fabric tube (5), has at least one tube section (6a, 6b) lying within the torus and closed with respect to the rest of the fabric tube (5).

  • Patent number: 6426463
Abstract: A fire-protection sleeve (1) for a pipe, cable and the like (T) has an axially extending tubular metal housing (2), which has a radially outwardly projecting connecting flange (3) at one end. An end section (6), at the one end of the housing (2), contains a heat-intumescing composition (10), formed on the inner wall of the housing (2) and surrounds the axis of an axially extending opening (9) in the tubular housing (2) for the pipe, cable and the like (T). At the end section (6) of the housing (2) having the heat-intumescing composition (10), metallic lamellas (12) are arranged, which extend radially inwardly into the opening (9) of the housing (2) for the pipe, cable or the like (T) and are flexible in the axial direction of the opening (9).
