  • Patent number: 4319294
Abstract: In a tape scanning device for magnetic tape equipment of the kind used for recording and/or reproducing broad band signals, by designing the head wheel carrying the rotating magnetic heads as a tachometer disc or drum, substantial advantages are obtained when replacement of the head wheel is required due to damage or wear, in particular the avoidance of the need to achieve precise correspondence of the angular positions of the head wheel and tacho disc during reassembly.

  • Patent number: 4200895
Abstract: To provide for accurate relocation of two cylindrical halves of a scanning head after diassembly, for example for replacement of scanning transducers, a cylindrical element is located adjacent a support block having a surface approximately matching the surface of the cylindrical scanning head and additionally includes bearing seats formed of cast, or molded material in engagement with the cylindrical portions in positioning the portions on the support block; the cast or molded projection may, for example, be made of cured epoxy, cast through holes in the support block and prevented from adhesion with the cylindrical parts by a separating element.

  • Patent number: 4084762
Abstract: An arrangement for the automatically releasable mounting of reels on rotatable hubs including an equidistant arrangement of several spring-mounted gripping levers on the periphery of a take-up drum, the external diameter of which corresponds to the borehole diameter of the reel, and in which the gripping levers extend parallel to the axis of rotation of the take-up drum: two spring arrangements close to each extremity of each gripping lever are prestressed radially in outward direction, each lever being approximately in the center rotatably supported by an adjusting screw in such a manner that on mounting of the reel, the end of the gripping lever which is nearest to the reel is travelled over first, and upon pushing the reel further on, the second end is travelled over, whereupon the first end is tilted upwardly into engagement with a locking surface of the reel.
