  • Patent number: 4782944
Abstract: A multi-cellular carrier which includes a body having ends, sides, a bottom and an open top, and a divider assembly dividing the body into a plurality of cells, the divider assembly being directly integrally connected to one of the ends. The carrier is formed from a blank which includes a body forming blank portion and a divider assembly forming blank portion which are integrally joined together. When the two blank portions are longitudinally aligned, one handle panel may be carried by the divider assembly blank portion for telescoping between two handle panels carried by the body forming blank portion. On the other hand, when the two blank portions are disposed at right angles to one another so as to have an L-shape for internesting of two blanks for economy purposes, the divider assembly forming blank portion will have two handle panels.

  • Patent number: 4253564
Abstract: An upwardly opening tray-like carrier carton is disclosed for packaging a plurality of articles having the general form of beverage bottles, which carrier is fabricated from a single blank of foldable sheet material and is cut and scored so as to divide it into integrally connected panels which are adapted to be folded together so as to form, when set-up, a partitioned carton structure comprising a double row of upwardly opening bottle receiving cells disposed on opposite sides of a central bottle separating partition and handle forming panel assembly and being characterized by an upstanding partition wall extending between the rows of cells on each side of the partition and handle forming assembly which is hinged at its opposite ends to pairs of foldable end wall panels so as to enable the cells on each side of said central partition and handle forming panel assembly to be collapsed, when empty, and to be folded into flattened relation against said partition and handle forming assembly.

  • Patent number: 4210248
Abstract: A compound food package having a sealed, heat resistant pouch and a container therefor, is disclosed. The pouch, which contains uniformly distributed food items, has a substantially flat circumferential seam. The container is composed of semi-rigid plastic material. It contains a cavity into which the pouch is placed. The container has substantially flat rim portions. The rim portions engage the seam of the pouch and position and hold the pouch by its seam. The pouch is in intimate contact with the inner surfaces of the container, thereby counteracting inwardly directed forces and significantly contributing to the overall strength of the package.

  • Patent number: 4159076
Abstract: A rectangular tubular carton of foldable sheet material having a sealed end closure which comprises end closure panels hinged on oppositely disposed sidewalls, which are of a size to close the open end, with the innermost one having a narrow hinged panel on its free edge which is adhesively secured to the inside face of the outermost closure panel and folded into engagement with the innermost panel and hinged dust flaps on the other two sidewalls which are notched out along the one edge to accommodate the edge panel when it is folded back onto the innermost closure panel, the dust flaps being interposed between the closure panels. In a modified form, small end panels are hinged to the outermost closure panel and secured against the outside top margins of the sidewalls which have the dust flaps.

  • Patent number: 4150778
Abstract: A carton structure fabricated from a single blank of paperboard or similar foldable sheet material is characterized by a tubular body having hingedly connected sidewalls which are initially folded and connected in flattened relation, with panels at opposite ends of the blank overlying each other and constituting a body sidewall in which the outer wall panel has a tear tab arranged to be torn loose and hinged outwardly when the carton is set up so as to form a dispensing opening while the inner wall panel has an integral portion in which a hinged spout forming member is cut and positioned so that a portion thereof which is secured to the tear tab will be pulled into the dispensing opening and form therein a pouring spout upon outward movement of the tear tab. This application is a continuation-in-part of Ser. No. 824,351, filed Aug. 15, 1977, is now abandoned.
