  • Patent number: 11661993
Abstract: A shock absorber and method of controlling a shock absorber, wherein the shock absorber comprises damper body having an inner tube and an outer tube and a piston rod having a main piston arrangement arranged inside the inner tube. The shock absorber further comprises two separate electrical continuously controlled valves (CES1, CES2), one for compression and one for rebound flow, arranged with passive valves coupled in series with and downstream of the electronically controlled valves and with a communication chamber coupling these valves to a pressurizing chamber.

  • Publication number: 20220128116
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a valve arrangement for a shock absorber. The valve arrangement comprises a valve member axially moveable relative a housing, and a triple spring arrangement including a first spring, a second spring and a coil spring arranged between the valve member and a coupling member coupled to the first spring and the second spring. The valve arrangement is adapted so that when the valve member moves no more than a first stroke length relative a predetermined reference position the first spring deflects to adjust a force equilibrium of the valve member, when the valve member moves more than the first stroke length the second spring deflects to adjust said force equilibrium, and when the valve member moves beyond a second stroke length greater than the first stroke length, the coil spring compresses to adjust said force equilibrium. A shock absorber comprising such a valve arrangement and a method for controlling a damping medium flow in a shock absorber is disclosed as well.

  • Patent number: 10801576
Abstract: Valve arrangement for a shock absorber is described, comprising a valve housing (2) having a first (7) and a second port (8), a pilot chamber (3) being in fluid communication with the first (7) and/or second port (8), wherein a pilot pressure (Pp) is defined by a hydraulic pressure in the pilot chamber (3). The arrangement further comprises a main valve member (4) being axially movably arranged in the valve housing (2) and being arranged to interact with a main valve seat member (9) in order to restrict a main fluid flow between the first (7) and second ports (8) in response to the pilot pressure (Pp) acting on the main valve member (4).

  • Patent number: 9670982
Abstract: The invention relates to a pressure regulator in a shock absorber valve. The pressure regulator comprises an axially movable first valve part and a first seat, which are arranged in a valve housing in such a way that an adjustable flow opening is created between the parts. The flow opening is arranged to restrict a damping medium flow (q) and its flow opening size (s) is determined by a force balance on the first valve part. The force balance is principally or partially created by the sum of an actuating force (F) and the force (Fs) from a spring arrangement counter to the action of a counter holding regulator force (R). The spring arrangement comprises a first spring having a first spring constant (k1) and a second spring having a second spring constant (k2).

  • Patent number: 9188186
Abstract: A pressure regulator is provided for adjusting a pressure in a hydraulic flow, which pressure can be at least partially regulated using a solenoid. The solenoid can adjust a position of a driver that comprises a solenoid armature, a solenoid armature rod, and a delimiting part. The solenoid armature can be arranged around a solenoid armature rod and can be axially displaceable inside a solenoid chamber in a housing. The solenoid armature rod can have one or more holes that fluidly interconnect a first chamber to a solenoid chamber of the regulator. The delimiting part can be arranged around the solenoid armature rod adjacent to the housing and be configured such that clearances between the delimiting part, the solenoid armature rod, and the housing enable a certain radial movement between the driver and the housing.
