    Abstract: A cup-shaped cover for a fire hydrant includes an opening therethrough for rotatably receiving a special tool that opens and closes the fire hydrant valve. In order to provide for complete drainage, at least two channels are formed in the top surface of the cover. The channels slope downwardly from a location proximate the valve stem of the fire hydrant to a location opposite a portion of the valve body.
