Abstract: A system and method for creating custom domain name links is presented. A request is received by at least one server communicatively coupled to a network. The request is received from a user and is to create a custom domain name link to a third party service, the request identifying a custom domain name and the third party service. An entry is retrieved from a third party service link database for the third party service. The entry specifies how to create the custom domain name link for the third party service. The custom domain name link is created, by the at least one server, in accordance with the entry retrieved from the third party service link database.

Abstract: A game is provided that may be run on a client device of a customer. The game identifies one or more registered domain names and generates one or more available domain names for use in the game. In preferred embodiments, all of the registered and available domain names are linked in some manner to the customer and/or are in one or more categories selected by the customer. The domain names may be displayed one at a time and in a mixed order to the customer. The customer may guess whether each displayed domain name is registered or available for registration. The customer may be provided the correct answer after each guess and a “Results” page may display the results of all of the customer's guesses. The customer may be given the option at various points in the game to register any of the displayed and guessed upon available domain names. After registering one or more of the available domain names, the customer may be taken back into the game at the same point the customer left the game.

Abstract: A method is disclosed for dynamically updating the content of a website or a web service via a text message. A text service may receive, at a text phone number, the text message sent by a user from a text device. The text device may have a user phone number. In preferred embodiments, the text service may have a plurality of text phone numbers that may be called by a plurality of users. The text service may produce an action code based, at least in part, on the text message, the text phone number called by the user, the user phone number or some combination thereof. The text service may transmit the action code to one or more hosting servers to alter a website which may then be published. In another embodiment, the text service may transmit the action code to web server(s) that may alter a web service for the user.

Abstract: Systems and methods for resolving domain names to web content include controls for configuring servers, such as DNS servers, reverse proxy servers, and web servers, to efficiently route resource requests containing domain names in the domains of action gTLDs. The controls implement a domain naming framework that combines domain name labels, such as a SLD with a TLD, to create object+action domain names according to standard domain naming conventions. The SLD may be or match a record in a product identification scheme, which may be a known product identifier for which the web server has and can serve web resource content. A primary DNS server can be configured to route all traffic to the action gTLD, regardless of the content of the SLD, to a particular web server, obviating the need for conventional registration of domain names that use the gTLD.
