  • Patent number: 8375725
Abstract: A process for the co-production of hydrogen and power through the integration of a hydrogen production unit and a power generation unit is provided. The hydrogen production unit comprises a gas heated reformer, a water gas shift reactor, and a hydrogen separator which produces a low-BTU hydrocarbon fuel stream and a purified hydrogen stream. The low-BTU hydrocarbon fuel stream, along with a compressed oxygen-containing stream extracted from the power generation unit, is combusted to provide heat to the reformer.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 14, 2008
Date of Patent: February 19, 2013
    Assignee: Phillips 66 Company
Inventors: Arnold P. Keller, Subbaraman Viswanathan

  • Publication number: 20030005698
Abstract: A system for vaporizing liquefied natural gas (LNG) utilizes the residual cooling capacity of LNG to condense the working fluid of a power producing work producing cycle and chills liquids that are used in a direct-contact heat transfer system to cool air. The cold air is used to supply air to a combustion gas turbine operating in conjunction with a combined cycle power plant. Power is produced from both the work producing cycle and the combined cycle power plant and the chilling of the intake air to the gas turbine increases the output capacity of the combined cycle power plant.

  • Patent number: 4650814
Abstract: There is provided a process for producing a hydrocarbon product from a feed gas by passing at least a portion of a feed gas stream comprising hydrogen and carbon monoxide to a first separation zone and physically separating the feed gas stream, as for example by use of a membrane, into a first hydrogen stream wherein the ratio of hydrogen to carbon monoxide is greater in the feed gas stream and thereafter passing the first hydrogen stream to a product reaction zone to form a mixed product stream, which in turn undergoes physical separation to form a second hydrogen stream for selective recycle to the product reaction zone and a product stream including a hydrocarbon product such as methanol or methane.
