Patent number: 11924896Abstract: Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a radio device that has first and second subscriber identity modules; radio resources; a processing system including a processor; and a memory that stores executable instructions that, when executed by the processing system, facilitate performance of operations of establishing a first communications network connection associated with the first subscriber identity module; establishing a second communications network connection associated with the second subscriber identity module; determining a communications activity on the first communications network connection; pausing or suspending activities of the second communications network connection; and blocking use of the radio resources by the second communications network connection. Other embodiments are disclosed.Type: GrantFiled: August 20, 2021Date of Patent: March 5, 2024Assignee: AT&T Intellectual Property I, L.P.Inventors: Loc Yu, Arnold Schrider

Publication number: 20240073744Abstract: In one example, a method includes detecting that a user equipment device has moved to a location in a telecommunications network in which a first network route is available, where the first network route has a higher priority than a second network route with which an application executing on the user equipment device has established a current protocol data unit session, determining that the application should switch the current protocol data unit session to the first network route, and supporting the application in switching the current protocol data unit session from the second network route to the first network route.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 23, 2022Publication date: February 29, 2024Inventors: Feza Buyukdura, Arnold Schrider

Publication number: 20240073689Abstract: Concepts and technologies are disclosed herein for seamless personal hotspot connectivity via personal hotspot tokens. According to one aspect disclosed herein, a personal hotspot-enabled device can include a processor and a memory. The memory can store instructions of an operating system and a personal hotspot application. The personal hotspot-enabled device can receive a personal hotspot token. The personal hotspot application can recognize, via a short-range communication component, a device identification associated with a peripheral device operating in proximity to the personal hotspot-enabled device. The personal hotspot application can request the personal hotspot token from the operating system. The personal hotspot application can inform the operating system of the device identification. The personal hotspot application can then receive the personal hotspot token associated with the device identification. The operating system can create a personal hotspot.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 30, 2022Publication date: February 29, 2024Applicants: AT&T Intellectual Property I, L.P., AT&T Mobility II LLCInventors: Jason Sikes, Todd Wallace, Matthew Wallace, Arnold Schrider

Patent number: 11917477Abstract: The disclosed technology is directed towards preventing a handover of a Wi-Fi call to a Fifth Generation (5G) standalone cellular network. In one alternative, a 5G standalone usage setting is disabled on a mobile device when Wi-Fi calling is enabled on the mobile device. In another alternative, a 5G standalone usage setting is disabled on a mobile device when Wi-Fi calling is enabled on the mobile device and the mobile device is connected to a Wi-Fi network, which facilitates camping on a 5G standalone network when the mobile device is not connected to a Wi-Fi network. In yet another alternative, a 5G standalone usage setting is disabled on a mobile device when an evolved packet data gateway (ePDG) tunnel is set up on the mobile device, which similarly facilitates camping on a 5G standalone network when the ePDG tunnel is torn down.Type: GrantFiled: January 30, 2023Date of Patent: February 27, 2024Assignee: AT&T Intellectual Property I, L.P.Inventors: Hugh Shieh, William Rosenberg, Arnold Schrider

Publication number: 20230199455Abstract: Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a device, including a processing system including a processor; and a memory that stores executable instructions that, when executed by the processing system, facilitate performance of operations of determining network capacity to provide an enhanced experience to user equipment running an application; determining whether the user equipment features can provide the enhanced experience, wherein the determination is based in part on capability, location and subscription status; and responsive to a determination of adequate network capacity and adequate user equipment features, offering the enhanced experience through the application. Other embodiments are disclosed.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 11, 2022Publication date: June 22, 2023Applicants: AT&T Intellectual Property I, L.P., AT&T Mobility II LLCInventors: Arnold Schrider, Christopher McNair Wood, Richard Zaffino, Jason Sikes, Patrick Hendricks, Matthew Wallace

Patent number: 9384195Abstract: A mobile communication device may operate with a number of different applications, each having different file types associated therewith. A file analyzer receives data files and analyzes the files to identify a content type and thereafter associates the identified file with the appropriate application or applications. The received data files may be delivered through a wired connection, a wireless connection, or through the introduction of a memory device, such as a removable storage device, to the mobile communication device. The file analyzer may provide the appropriate notification or indication of association or association to the application associated with the identified content type and may further provide user notification of a newly delivered file. The files may be data files, such as text or multimedia files such as audio and/or video files.Type: GrantFiled: November 18, 2008Date of Patent: July 5, 2016Assignee: AT&T Intellectual Property I, L.P.Inventors: Richard Zaffino, Arnold Schrider
