  • Patent number: 8613697
Abstract: An incubator or thermotherapy device is provided with a reclining surface and with one or more limiting walls and with openings or removed side walls and with a foot side opening or removed foot-side side wall. Air discharge channels (7, 8, 9), on sides, contain guide elements of a guide device (11) with angles in the range of about 15° to 100° and spoilers of a deflecting device (13) with deflection angles of about 15° to 110°. The air discharge velocity is in the range of about 0.1 m/sec to 1.0 m/sec. The guide elements discharge angle in the front-side discharge channel corresponds to the deflection angle of the spoilers in the discharge channels. The air discharge velocity from the front-side discharge channel has a maximum in the middle of the discharge channel and changes continuously towards the sides to the air discharge velocity from the discharge channels.

  • Publication number: 20080125619
Abstract: An incubator or a thermotherapy device is provided with a reclining surface (1) and with one or more limiting walls (5, 6) above the reclining surface (1) and with openings or removed long-side side walls (2, 3) and with a foot side opening or removed foot-side side wall. Discharge channels (7, 8, 9) are provided for air on both sides along the reclining surface (1) and on one front or foot side of the reclining surface (1), containing guide elements of a guide device (11). The guide elements can be set at angles ? in the direction of the discharge channels (7, 8, 9). Spoilers of a deflecting device (13) can be set at deflection angles ? in relation to the reclining surface (1), on both sides along the reclining surface (1) and on the front side of the reclining surface (1). An exhaust unit (10) for air is located opposite the front side and is positioned under the upper limiting wall.

  • Publication number: 20040224626
Abstract: An open patient care unit with a bed (1), with inner and outer air discharge channels (20, 30) extending around the bed (1) at least over some sections, and with at least one air exhaust or a purgative suction unit (4) arranged above the bed (1), wherein the air discharge channels (20, 30) are directed such that they converge toward the air exhaust or purgative suction unit (4), and wherein ambient air delivered via a first fan (6) is discharged from the outer air discharge channels (30), and air, which is conditioned in terms of humidity and/or temperature and is delivered via a second fan (8) from the air exhaust or purgative suction unit (4), is discharged from the inner air discharge channels (20), has the essential advantage that a hood, which is used in incubators, is not used at all, so that switching over between different operating states is not necessary, and cooling down of the patient is thus avoided, but good access is at the same time ensured for the care providers.
