  • Publication number: 20210345625
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to dough and dough-based food products having a unique appearance and texture. In a general embodiment, a dough is provided and includes at least one enzyme having an enzyme activity level sufficient to provide the dough with at least one characteristic selected from the group consisting of a water absorption ranging from about 58% to about 64%, a fermentation after about 90 minutes, retention of gas cells after sizing and/or baking the dough, good viscoelastic properties after baking the dough, or combinations thereof. The dough may also include the use of a specifically sourced malted barley flour at a level that is not recommended by the baking industry and/or processing parameters that reduce the fermentation time of the dough. Methods for making a dough are also provided.

  • Patent number: 8788396
Abstract: In at least one embodiment, a method and system associated with financial articles of trade may include comparing relevant portions of data pertaining to an attempted transaction, wherein the transaction may pertain to one in which an entity is financially liable but unaware. At least one embodiment includes monitoring market transaction activity data to determine when a trading entity has exceeded an aggregated limit, such as one or more trading sub-limits corresponding to one or more custodial prime brokers facilitating trading for the trading entity. At least one embodiment includes a pre-trade gateway to determine if an order violates a pre-trade risk based on information collected by a front-end analyzer. Possible actions include, but are not limited to, placing a null order, terminating a connection associated with the order, modifying the order so as not to violate a pre-trade risk check, and/or notifications to one or more entities.

  • Patent number: 8386371
Abstract: Market data is monitored for purposes of canceling orders for financial articles of trade. Real-time data is collected from multiple liquidity destinations trading at least one financial article of trade. The real-time data comprises disparate data corresponding to associated liquidity destinations. The collected real-time data is normalized into a standardized form. A condition is defined of a trading market that includes one or both of submitted and executed transactions of financial articles of trade over the multiple liquidity destinations. The condition is associated with an entity. Through monitoring of the normalized real-time data, an event is identified in the trading market that matches the condition. Upon identification of the condition, at least one communication session between the entity and a corresponding liquidity destination is terminated causing a process at the corresponding liquidity destination to cancel pending or outstanding orders for financial articles of trades from the entity.

  • Patent number: 8240266
Abstract: A mooring apparatus (2) including a frame (4), a mooring wheel (6) and a locking system, wherein the mooring wheel includes a circumferentially located mooring rope engagement portion and is rotatably coupled to the frame; and the locking system is adapted to prevent rotation of the mooring wheel when in a locked configuration and to permit rotation of the mooring wheel when in a released configuration, whereby when the locking system is in the locked position, the mooring wheel is configured such that the forces exerted by a mooring rope against the mooring apparatus act along an axis which passes substantially through a rotational axis of the mooring wheel.

  • Publication number: 20110161220
Abstract: The present invention relates to systems and methods for monitoring market transaction activity data to determine when a trading entity has exceeded an aggregated limit consisting of one or more trading sub-limits corresponding to one or more custodial prime brokers facilitating trading for the trading entity. The method includes collecting at a centralized hub real time data related to conditions of a trading market from one or more liquidity destinations trading at least one financial article of trade. Trading activity for a trading entity is determined. An aggregate trading limit is determined that is based on one or more trading sub-limits assigned by one or more prime brokers for that trading entity. It is determined when that trading activity exceeds the aggregate trading limit.

  • Publication number: 20090192784
Abstract: A computer-implemented method for analyzing documents to discover noncompliance with an established norm is provided. The method can include receiving one or more terms indicating possible noncompliance with a pre-established norm, and, based upon the at least one term, constructing at least one grammatical unit. The grammatical unit can specify a predetermined syntax and can correspond to semantic content that is indicative of noncompliance with the pre-established norm, wherein the norm can include a statute, regulation, policy, or other standard. The method can further include identifying from among multiple electronic documents each document that contains one or more grammatical units specifying a predetermined syntax and corresponding to semantic content indicative of noncompliance with the pre-established norm.

  • Patent number: 6826957
Abstract: A portable air pressure decay test apparatus for leak testing of a sealed system includes a hollow housing, an air pump having an inlet and an outlet disposed in the housing, and a controller disposed in the housing and connected to the pump for controlling the operation of the pump. A test head is mounted on the housing for releasably attaching to an attachment point of a sealed system. The test head is in fluid communication with the outlet of the pump. When the test head is attached to the attachment point of the sealed system, the controller operates the pump to provide pressured air to the sealed system and raise the pressure in the sealed system to a predetermined value. After the predetermined value of pressure is reached, the controller stops the pump and monitors the air pressure in the sealed system for a predetermined time interval to measure an air pressure decay rate.

  • Patent number: 5906436
Abstract: A composting system for promoting maximum aerobic microbial activity in a composting bed. The system includes at least one composting bay for receiving composting material and an agitator for aerating and displacing composting material as it travels through the composting bay. The agitator has at least one structural frame member, and a conveyor, a feeder, and at least one bridge breaker that are mounted to the structural frame member. As the agitator travels through the bay, the feeder takes composting material from the bay and feeds it to the conveyor which discharges the composting material rearwardly into the bay behind the agitator. The bridge breaker displaces the composting material above the feeder causing the material to fall substantially evenly onto the feeder, thereby preventing large amounts of composting material from suddenly collapsing onto the feeder which can result in overload conditions on the feeder drive system.
