    Abstract: An engine oil pan having a threaded drain opening sealed by a removable plug. An auxiliary passage is formed in the plug, whereby the plug can be partially unscrewed from the drain opening to discharge metered quantities of water, sludge and similar impurities that accumulate from time to time at the bottom of the pan. The metered flow can be easily stopped when it turns into clean oil.
