The armrest assembly includes a main body with a proximal adjustment assembly disposed at a first end and a distal adjustment assembly disposed at a second end. The proximal adjustment assembly provides for adjustment of the main body about a first axis. The distal adjustment assembly provides for adjustment of an arm pad about a second axis as well as a third axis. To prevent damage, a breakaway assembly is provided by the distal adjustment assembly to unlock the arm pad from a raised position and lower it into a lower position in the event a weight applied to the arm pad is beyond a particular weight threshold.

Abstract: An adjustable IV pole assembly is disclosed including an inner rod which is telescopingly received within an outer tube for adjustment of the pole height. A locking mechanism is located on a top end of the outer tube for locking the inner rod against downward movement. The locking mechanism includes an inwardly tapered surface located at an end of the outer tube and a release sleeve positioned between the inner rod and the tapered surface wherein the release sleeve carries a plurality of balls which may wedge between the tapered surface and the inner rod to lock the inner rod against movement. In addition, the release sleeve is provided with a flange portion which extends radially outwardly beyond the circumference of the outer tube and which may be manually engaged to release the locking mechanism and thereby allow the inner rod to move downwardly relative to the outer tube.

Abstract: A crib having a frame and a bed supported by the frame includes at least one side rail assembly for enclosing one side of the bed surface. The side rail is attached to the frame for raising and lowering movement of the side rail. A latch assembly releasably secures the side rail in a raised position. A handle assembly includes a first rod connected to the side rail. A second rod is slidably connected to and located above the first rod for movement relative thereto. An actuator is connected between the second rod and the latch so that movement of the second rod toward the first releases the latch. The rods may be pivotally moved away from the side rail. A projection attached to the side rail is positioned between the rods to prevent movement of the rods for releasing the latch unless the rods are first pivoted away from the side rail.
