  • Patent number: 7861840
Abstract: An anti-back drive system preferably includes a drive housing, a drive ring, a lock ring and an output pinion. The drive housing includes a drive counterbore. The drive housing is secured to an electric motor. The drive ring preferably includes a base member and a plurality of drive projections. The drive ring is secured to a drive shaft of the electric motor. The lock ring includes a plurality of inward facing cam surfaces and a plurality of inward facing loop projections. The output pinion includes a drive gear and a plurality of drive fingers, which extend radially outward from the output pinion. The plurality of inward facing cam surfaces are sized to receive an end perimeter of said plurality of drive fingers. A push on clip is secured to the drive shaft to retain the drive ring, the lock ring and the output pinion on the drive shaft.

  • Patent number: 7752937
Abstract: An anti-backlash gear includes a first gear and a second gear. The first gear preferably includes a gear plate, a plurality of snap projections and a finger hub. The plurality of snap projections and the finger hub extend from one face of the gear plate. The finger hub includes at least one substantially circular cavity. The second gear preferably includes a gear ring, a tubular projection and at least one spring finger. The tubular projection extends from one face of the gear ring. A snap bore is formed in the tubular projection. The at least one spring finger extends from an inside perimeter of the tubular projection. Each spring finger is terminated with a substantial retention cylinder for retention in the substantially circular opening. The second gear is pushed on to the first gear. The plurality of snap projections are retained on a bottom of the snap bore.

  • Patent number: 4819493
Abstract: An electric door lock actuator includes an outer casing which houses a reversible electric motor. The motor is coupled to a inertial clutch assembly and a gear train to reciprocally move a rack which extends outwardly from the casing between an advanced and a retracted position. The clutch assembly includes a drive gear coupled to the electric motor, and driven gear connected to operate the rack through the gear train. The clutch also includes an inertially operated clutch plate eccentrically mounted on the clutch drive gear and having a pair of arcuately spaced driving teeth alternately operably engageable with the driven clutch gear when the motor is driven in either a forward or a reverse direction. The clutch is operative to connect the motor to either advance or retract the rack when the motor shaft is operated in either a forward or a reverse direction.
