  • Publication number: 20240117733
Abstract: The present invention is directed to an apparatus for use on a structural member having a longitudinal axis, the structural member being configured to propagate stress wave energy in an operational state, the stress wave energy being characterized by an operational frequency spectrum. The apparatus has a housing assembly including a first end, a second end, and one or more protective enclosures configured to accommodate one or more devices. The housing assembly is configured to be rotationally registered to the structural member when coupled to the structural member, and is characterized by a predetermined housing mass. A spring arrangement is coupled between the structural member and the first end and/or coupled between the structural member and the second end in the operational state. The spring arrangement is characterized by a predetermined force-displacement relationship.

  • Publication number: 20220268105
Abstract: A boom system for utility service lines (such as cables, wires, hoses, pipes, etc.) for a drilling rig. The mobile boom system includes a skid with posts and one or more booms pivotally attached to each post. One or more articulating booms attached to a first post can support and carry the service lines connected to the sources and one or more articulating booms attached to the second post can support and carry the service lines connected to a drilling rig, or to a boom extending from a drilling rig. The mobile articulating boom system can include means for moving and selectively positioning the mobile articulating boom system at a drilling site. The mobile boom system can be adapted so that it has first, second, and third booms which can be placed in a closed position and fit within a perimeter defined by the skid for easier transportation to and from a drilling site.

  • Patent number: 6973736
Abstract: An apparatus for tracing a contour onto a tile prior to cutting the tile includes a base member having a first longitudinal slot and a retaining lip disposed at one end thereof. A first extension member includes a second longitudinal slot and is pivotally attached to the base member by a fastener assembly that passes through the first and second longitudinal slots. A second extension member includes a third longitudinal slot and is pivotally attached to the first extension member by a second fastener assembly that passes through the second and third longitudinal slots. The second extension member includes a 45 degree angled end that terminates in a point, the point being useful for locating a point on an obstruction. The 45 degree end is used to orient the first and second extension members at a 45 degree angle with respect to a raised edge of the base member.

  • Patent number: 4011529
Abstract: A device for detecting the power of incident or reflected waves along a transmission line is described which includes a capacitive pick-up element in series with a summing capacitor between the two conductors of the transmission line. The capacitive pick-up element provides a current sample through the summing capacitor in proportion to the line voltage. A coupling loop positioned in the approximate region of the capacitive pick-up element and in series resonance with the summing capacitor provides a current sample through the summing capacitor in proportion to the line current. The coupling loop is of highly resistive material to maintain the magnitude and phase of the developed line current sample relatively independent of frequency over a relatively broad range of frequencies.

  • Patent number: 3932873
Abstract: A center fed dipole with a shortened aperture is described. A first rod-like radiator element approximately a quarter wavelength long at the center operating frequency of the antenna is coupled to the inner conductor of a coaxial transmission line. A second radiator element includes a hollow-conductive cylinder, coaxial with the coaxial transmission line, and a coil. The conductive cylinder is substantially less than a quarter wavelength long at the center operating frequency of the antenna. The conductive cylinder is coupled at one end to the outer conductor of the coaxial transmission line and the end of the cylinder remote from the one end is coupled to the coil.
