  • Publication number: 20240015173
Abstract: System and methods track events associated with web browser activity along with corresponding browser tab identifiers. A web page is loaded in a browser tab based on a request to a Uniform Resource Locator (URL). A time is identified, and it is determined that a predetermined time interval has elapsed. A storage mechanism is queried to determine whether an event log stored to the storage mechanism contains a stored tab identifier for the browser tab. If the tab identifier is not stored to the event log, then a tab identifier is stored to the event log, mapped to the time and the URL. If the event log contains the stored tab identifier for the tab, then the event log is updated to include the time mapped to the tab identifier. The URL may also be updated if applicable. The event log is transmitted to a server computer for further analysis.

  • Publication number: 20230229767
Abstract: Systems and methods for validating online activities through proof-of-work techniques are provided. In one example, a validating computing system receives a request for a proof-of-work instruction from a client device that has submitted an online activity request to an online server system. The validating computing system generates and transmits a proof-of-work instruction for solving a problem to the client device. The validating computing system further receives a response to the proof-of-work instruction from the client device. The validating computing system generates a validity decision based on whether the client device correctly solved the problem, and transmits, to the online server system, the validity decision for use in granting the online activity request to the online server system.

  • Patent number: 11675868
Abstract: Systems and methods for storing information in a web browser by dynamically generating service worker codes are provided. In one example, an online system receives a request from a client device to store data included in the request in a service worker code. The online system modifies a source code of a particular service worker code to include the data to be stored and transmits the modified service worker code to the client device. The client device receives and stores the modified service worker code embedded with the data. The client device receives a request for a particular data associated with a web page and determines that the modified service worker code contains the requested particular data. The client device retrieves the requested particular data from the modified service worker code and updates the web page with the retrieved particular data.

  • Patent number: 11287550
Abstract: Embodiments relate to leads and polynyas forecasting. Initially observed ice forecast data is obtained for a geographic area of interest, which is then used to generate an ice grid based on the observed ice data, where the ice grid includes grid cells that map polar regions. At this stage, daily opening rates are determined based on the ice grid, where each daily opening rate indicates an opening speed of a corresponding ice event, and daily convergence strain rates are determined based on the ice grid, where each daily convergence strain rate indicates a convergence of the corresponding ice event. For each day, a daily opening rate is weighted and then adjusting by a daily convergence strain rate. A forecasted opening rate on a target date is determined based on the weighted, adjusted daily opening rates. Predicted openings of the polar region can be rendered based on the forecasted opening rate.

  • Patent number: 10984645
Abstract: Offender location tracking devices have evolved to a point where they are wearable computers. Modern smartwatches are also wearable computers and can be used as offender tracking devices; however, they have the limitation of not being able to detect if they are being tampered with or are removed. A novel security band of the present invention can be used in conjunction with a commercially available smartwatch. The security band of the present invention is able to detect if it is cut or removed and is able to wirelessly notify a smartwatch or optional smartphone. The notification is then relayed to a monitoring center or supervising authority using a cellular telephone network or other wireless communication method.

  • Patent number: 10549024
Abstract: A catheter and a method facilitate insertion into a blood vessel by providing a tubular wall section with a lumen having a longitudinally extending first volume and a second volume extending side-by-side and contiguous with the first volume. A sector of the tubular wall section is extended side-by-side and contiguous with the second volume of the lumen and is constructed of a material enabling the sector to be collapsed diametrically and nested within the first volume so that the section is provided with limited diametric dimensions. Upon insertion of the section into the blood vessel, the sector is expanded to extend diametrically outside the first volume, thereby rendering the section configured with expanded diametric dimensions and the lumen with a total cross-sectional area for accommodating a desired relatively high volumetric flow rate of fluid through the catheter.

  • Patent number: 10268783
Abstract: System and method for correcting the vertical structure of the ocean temperature and salinity can enable the use of sea surface height (SSH) measurements to correct ocean forecast models. In the present embodiment, three relations that can be precomputed are exploited: (1) the relation between temperature and salinity throughout a water column, (2) the relation between temperature/salinity and geopotential, and (3) the relation between geopotential and SSH. The relations are stored in a form that allows efficient application through a cross-correlation matrix.

  • Patent number: 10120836
Abstract: Embodiments relate to gathering materials on an ocean surface. Initially, an initial distribution of material is determined based on observational sources, and the material is represented by particles in a numerical ocean model. Trajectories for the numerical ocean model are determined based on modeled surface currents data, and velocity gradients are computed along a corresponding trajectory of the trajectories for each of the particles based on the initial distribution. At this stage, deformation tensors are computed for each of the particles based on the velocity gradients, and a dilation map for the particles is generated based on a time step tensor of the plurality of deformation tensors for each of the particles. Collection of the material is monitored based on the dilation map.

  • Publication number: 20180055494
Abstract: A tissue sampling apparatus and method obtain a sample of tissue from a selected site and place a hemostatic plug at the selected site. The apparatus includes an external needle and an internal needle within the external needle. A chamber in the internal needle is divided by a divider member into a plug compartment for receiving a hemostatic plug, and a sample compartment for receiving a tissue sample. The divider member is resiliently biased into the plug compartment and the internal needle is movable relative to the external needle for admitting the hemostatic plug into the plug compartment and displacing the divider member into the sample compartment, and then closing the chamber. The apparatus then is advanced to the selected site where relative movement between the internal and external needles opens the chamber, allowing the divider member to expel the hemostatic plug from the plug compartment, and admitting a tissue sample into the sample compartment.
