  • Publication number: 20200050813
Abstract: A system and method for verifying price and product information displayed on tags for products on a shelf in a retail store. A retailer management server stores data relating to products including stored prices for the products and planogram information, for example. A hand-held portable terminal is configured to communicate with the server and verify data on a shelf tag. The terminal includes a scanner for scanning barcodes/UPCs/GTINs on a shelf tag associated with a product of a manufacturer, as well as the barcode on the product. The system processes and compares the scanned information of the shelf tag, including price information and optionally location data, with stored information for the product as obtained from the server, and issues an alarm (sound or vibration) from the hand-held device if the compared data is incorrect or inconsistent (i.e., not the same).

  • Patent number: 10492501
Abstract: A portable pneumatic stunner for stunning or euthanizing an animal has a piston slideable within an inner chamber, a housing with a front portion being moveable toward and away from its rear portion, a stunning rod driven by the piston forward towards the front end of the housing, a catch system for alternately holding and releasing the stunning rod, and a regulator for regulating the pressure received from a fluid container for operating the stunner. The stunning rod is driven along a longitudinal axis upon exposure of a pressurized fluid to the piston, and the stunning rod is retracted back into the stunner after firing by exerting a manual inward force on the stunning rod and housing. The catch system comprises a plurality of arcuate sections substantially forming a cylinder. The regulator determines the allowable pressure levels of the fluid the stunner is subjected to.

  • Publication number: 20190266652
Abstract: Systems and methods for controlling shelf display units and for graphically presenting information on shelf display units are disclosed. A system includes one or more display units configured to be coupled to shelves of a modular shelving system, one or more processors communicatively coupled to the one or more display units, one or more memory components communicatively coupled to the one or more processors, and machine readable instructions stored in the one or more memory components. When executed by the one or more processors, the machine readable instructions cause the system to determine a product identifier corresponding to a product, identify one or more display units to update in response to determining the product identifier corresponding to the product, and update a graphical output of the one or more display units identified to be updated in response to identifying the one or more display units to update.

  • Patent number: 10375969
Abstract: A stunning rod for a pneumatically operated animal concussion stunner comprises an elongated body. One end of the elongated body is adapted to receive a locking insert, and the other is adapted to engage a catch. The locking insert receives a locking element, wherein the combined locking insert and locking element are inserted into the first end of the elongated body. A strike end having a diameter larger than the diameter of the elongated body is secured to the first end of the rod via the locking insert and locking element. Locking grooves or protrusions disposed on the strike end interact with the locking insert to prevent rotation of the stunning rod and strike end during stunner operation. Lobes or flanges disposed about the periphery of the locking element interlock with grooves disposed within the rod first end, and further prevent rotation of the strike end during stunner operation.

  • Patent number: 10085876
Abstract: A female urination device that allows a woman to urinate while standing includes a fluid collecting body and a sanitary napkin. The fluid collecting body has a concave interior surface and a convex exterior surface that are positioned in between a spout and a rim. The concave interior surface delineates a fluid collecting portion, while the rim delineates a vulval opening. The spout is in fluid communication with the vulval opening through the fluid collecting portion, wherein urine is able to freely pass through the fluid collecting body. The concave interior surface and the convex exterior surface are tapered from the rim to the spout, while the spout is tapered away from the concave interior surface and the convex exterior surface to facilitate the control of the flow of urine. The sanitary napkin is positioned around the rim and assists in adhering the fluid collecting body to the woman's body.

  • Publication number: 20180000099
Abstract: An animal stunner for use in livestock/slaughterhouse operations has a piston slideable within an inner chamber, and a fire pressure chamber with an annular configuration disposed adjacent the rearward or central end of the inner chamber. A stunning rod is driven forward by the piston to stun the animal and rearward to retract the rod. A valve system alternately controls flow of the pressurized fluid from the fire pressure chamber to the rearward end of the inner chamber to move the piston and drive the stunning rod. A catch system holds and releases the stunning rod. A compressed fluid supply is used to retract the stunning rod between operation cycles. Handles employing triggers are used by the operator to hold the stunner and to activate the valve system, and cushion mount systems are attached between the handles and stunner housing to absorb shock while operating the stunner.
