Patent number: 8668291Abstract: An apparatus and method for a metal clad facade includes a thin metal cladding having at least one edge. The facade or the object with which it is associated has at least one edge around which the metal cladding edge can be wrapped. The wrapped edge could optionally be crimped. Optionally, exposed edges of the cladding could be covered by raised bosses or ribs on the façade. Optionally, a projection or extension of the cladding, oblique to other parts of the cladding, could extend into an opening in or near a surface of the facade or its underlying object. Wrapping of at least one edge with the metal cladding provides the appearance of a more substantial metal part than if the edge were not wrapped and provides for a more securement and durable attachment between the cladding and the underlying object.Type: GrantFiled: November 21, 2007Date of Patent: March 11, 2014Assignee: Whirlpool CorporationInventors: Bruce Arthur Kopf, Michael Allen Bowen, Todd Joseph Tunzi

Publication number: 20050157867Abstract: An emergency call transmitter includes a housing formed by a substantially hollow cylindrical center piece which defines first and second opposite sides. A flange part is arranged on the first side, and a base part is arranged on the second side. At least one antenna wire passage is formed which leads out of an interior of the center piece. Disposed in the housing are an electric circuit element and a power supply device. An antenna wire is disposed in the housing and is arranged to be pulled out of the housing through the antenna wire passage. The antenna wire is formed of a memory material which aligns itself to a linear state once pulled from the housing.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 10, 2003Publication date: July 21, 2005Inventors: Gunter Megner, Wolfram Hodapp, Arthur Kopf

Patent number: 4947179Abstract: A magnetic antenna for a radio receiver such as a radio timepiece can be installed under restricted spacial conditions in a small housing or used as an antenna for a radio wristwatch. The antenna includes a core extending through a coil. The core is made of flexible, high permeability material, so that a flexible connection with the watch is obtained. A multiple flat strip conductor integrated into a watch bracelet serves as the connection between the coil and the receiver. Instead of being flexible, the core may be rigid but pre-formed in a non-linear shape.Type: GrantFiled: May 17, 1989Date of Patent: August 7, 1990Assignee: Junghans Uhren GmbHInventors: Wolfgang Ganter, Arthur Kopf

Patent number: 4860268Abstract: An autonomous radio timepiece having a time equalizing processor to control and potentially correct the instantaneous time indication on the basis of the prevailing time information received by radio transmission, is equipped with an improved device for temporarily interrupting operation of the time indication. Such a device is provided for the purpose of interrupting the display function of the radio timepiece without deactivating the other auxiliary and operating functions of the radio timepiece, so that following termination of the interruption, normal operation continues without any interference. The display may be interrupted indirectly or directly. In the first case the reset inlet of the time equalizing processor is actuated to trigger the synchronizing process, which otherwise takes place upon the actuation of the radio timepiece.Type: GrantFiled: September 7, 1988Date of Patent: August 22, 1989Assignee: Junghans Uhren GmbHInventors: Jurgen Allgaier, Wolfgang Ganter, Wolfram Hodapp, Arthur Kopf, Roland Maurer

Patent number: 4005631Abstract: A device for setting mechanical time fuse in which the fuse has an element which, when rotated, adjusts the time period of the fuse. The fuse is contained within a housing at the forward end of a projectile and within the housing forwardly of the fuse is a stepping motor connected to the rotatable element of the fuse by reduction gearing. A setting device in the form of a pulse emitter and adjustable logic circuitry is disposed outside the firing tube in which the projectile is mounted and is electrically connected with the stepping motor by wires which include separable connectors. The setting device advantageously provides for ignition of the projectile propelling charge when the setting of the time period for the fuse has been completed. Also, advantageously, a clamping device is provided for clamping the stepping motor in its adjusted position prior to or immediately upon ignition of the propelling charge.Type: GrantFiled: October 21, 1974Date of Patent: February 1, 1977Assignee: Gebruder Junghans GmbHInventors: Hans Kaiser, Arthur Kopf, Josef Muller
