  • Patent number: 4721471
Abstract: A flexible power bus system for use in bringing to and distributing power on a printed circuit board. More particularly, the system includes electrical contact elements having a wire receiving ferrule at one end of a plate for being crimped onto a electrical wire and pins extending outwardly from another end of the plate for electrical engagement with power traces on the printed circuit board.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 31, 1986
Date of Patent: January 26, 1988
    Assignee: AMP Incorporated
    Inventor: Arthur L. Mueller
  • Patent number: 4639063
Abstract: An electrical connector for receiving and retaining a flexible film strip and electrically connecting conductors thereon to circuit traces on a circuit board on which the connector is mounted. More particularly, the connector includes contact units of contact elements mounted in insulative members which are received in the connector housing and a cover which is cammed down to wipingly press the conductors on the flexible film strip against cantilever spring arms on the contact elements.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: January 27, 1987
    Assignee: AMP Incorporated
    Inventor: Arthur L. Mueller
  • Patent number: 4571015
Abstract: The invention discloses an electrical connector for interconnecting electronic packages to printed circuit boards. The connector includes clamps which, in cooperation with the circuit board, secure the connector thereto and place the interconnecting members in compression between the package and board.

  • Patent number: 4427258
Abstract: The present invention relates to an electrical connector of the type wherein the wire is removably terminated by being compressed between a wire-receiving surface and a set screw or the like. More particularly, the connector includes a wire-receiving surface and a second member having nonlinear, resilient sidewalls which tend to straighten out as the screw is turned down against the wire. The energy stored in the sidewalls maintain pressure on the wire.

  • Patent number: 4405195
Abstract: The invention disclosed herein is a pin and socket connector having a high resistance to tensile or pull-out forces. The pin includes three separate spring beams which are joined together to form an expandable insertion member. The socket includes a receptacle with means therein to expand the insertion member outwardly to achieve good electrical contact. Cooperating locking means on the pin and socket prevent separation of the two.

  • Patent number: 4269465
Abstract: The present invention relates to a connector for electrically joining two aluminum wires, end to end, and further to mechanically retain such wires against pull-out. More particularly, the invention teaches extruding an aluminum tube having a first longitudinally extending passage, a second passage beneath the first passage and vertical slot between the two which create cantilever beams which are resilient so as to exert force against the wires in cooperation with set screws bearing in against the wires from an opposite side of the tube. Further, an elongated tooth slide bar, occupying the vertical slots, provides oxide scrapping action and wire retention, also in cooperation with the set screws.
