  • Publication number: 20230074506
Abstract: A process for recovery and purification of HMOs comprising: (a) providing an HMO-containing fermentation broth comprising biomass; (b) separating the fermentation broth to form a separated HMO-containing stream and a biomass waste stream; (c) purifying the separated HMO-containing stream; (d) concentrating the separated HMO-containing stream; and (e) drying the product of steps (a)-(d) by an indirect drying method thereby forming a purified HMO, wherein steps (c)-(d) can be performed in any order.

  • Publication number: 20210230656
Abstract: A method for producing and purifying human milk oligosaccharides (HMOs) is provided. The method includes fermentation of a genetically modified microbial organism, preferably a genetically modified yeast strain, and downstream processing of the fermentation product using one or more of an enzymatic treatment, filtration, and a simulated moving bed (SMB) chromatography step. Use of the resulting HMO in food or feed applications, preferably in infant food and/or formula is also provided.

  • Publication number: 20160128356
Abstract: The present invention provides a (preferably defatted) rice bran hydrolysate composition which comprises of more than 50 wt % (on dry matter) of (poly)peptides and which has a DH (Degree of Hydrolysis) of at least 10%, preferably between 10 and 16% and more than 90%, preferably more than 95%, of the (poly) peptides has a molecular weight (MW) of more than 500 Da.

  • Publication number: 20150257411
Abstract: The present invention provides a rice bran hydrolysate which comprises of more than 90%, preferably of more than 95%, of (poly) peptides with a molecular weight (MW) of more than 500 Da and which has a DH (Degree of Hydrolysis) of at least 10%, preferably between 10 and 16%. According to another aspect of the invention a process to produce a rice bran hydrolysate is provided.

  • Patent number: 6274095
Abstract: The present invention provides a method for the thermal treatment of material in a rotating conical chamber (4) placed in a housing (1). According to the invention material, brought into the rotating chamber (4) and ejected due to the conical shape, is returned to the chamber (4) for further thermal treatment, without leaving the housing (1). By applying the method of the invention, the thermal efficiency is increased. In addition, wear of the means required for returning material that is to be treated again into the housing (1), is avoided. The invention also relates to two installations for putting the method into practice.
