Abstract: A tether for an implantable bone device, the tether including a retention portion for holding the implantable bone device in place, wherein the retention portion comprises a recess configured to receive a protruding proximate end of the device when the device is positioned inside a bone, wherein the recess is open at a first end and closed at a second end; and a fastening portion for affixing the tether to the bone, wherein the fastening portion comprises one or more through fastener openings, wherein each through fastener opening is configured to receive a bone fastener, wherein the fastening portion is adjustable, and wherein the fastening portion is shaped to be less thick that a height of the retention portion.

Abstract: A process for the preparation of continuously variable-composition copolymers by effecting gradual changes in monomer composition during the polymerization is disclosed. Poly(meth)acrylate copolymers made by the process of the present invention have improved lubricating oil additive properties, for example, as pour point depressants, when compared to related polymer additives made by conventional means.

Abstract: A paging system is entered through appropriate telephone equipment at a master station to supply an audio paging output at a remote station. A paging amplifier is connected to drive a speaker at the remote station to provide the audio output. A direction sensing circuit is disposed between the master and remote stations which operates to sense time relationship between two signals appearing at two separate points within the direction sensing circuit. One time relationship between the two signals indicates a master station transmission and control, and another time relationship indicates a remote station transmission. The method includes coupling signals from the remote station to first and second points in the control circuit and causing a lag to appear between the two points. Signals from the master station are coupled to the second point in the circuit, and the timing of the signals present at the first and second circuit points are compared to obtain an indication of lead or lag therebetween.

Abstract: A telephone handset cord storage apparatus utilizes a housing containing a shaft journaled therein. The shaft carries a reel for the storage of portions of the length of a telephone cord in multi-turn solenoid-like layers. The shaft is biased in a preferred direction of rotation by a helical spring. A rod is slidably affixed to the housing and is adapted with an opening through which a portion of the cord passes. A crankshaft is pivotably affixed to the free end of the rod and eccentrically pivotably affixed to a gear rotatably operated when the shaft is rotated, thus winding and unwinding the cord in an orderly fashion within the storage area of the reel. Means are provided to fixedly secure the housing to a supporting surface adjacent a telephone apparatus.
