    Abstract: A fountain solution is described which possesses utility for use in printing, and which, in particular, is operable to wet the non-printing areas of a printing plate. The fountain solution of the subject invention includes, a poly alkoxylated polyether; a compatible surfactant; a hydroxypropylene cellulose gum; a polymerized, ethylene wax; and a sufficient amount of water. The fountain solution is thereafter supplied to a conventional printing press and is utilized in a conventional manner.
