  • Patent number: 4694604
Abstract: Apparatus for dispersing a gaseous or vaporized pheromone trail into the atmosphere under determined conditions comprises first container (10) in which a pheromone source (22) is located. Means (12) to create and upward draught is provided surmounting the first container (10). Flying insects lured by the trail enter the means 12 and into the first container (10) then to a second container (9) out of which they cannot escape. Alternatively, the insects land on a sticky insecticide from which they cannot escape.

  • Patent number: 4638727
Abstract: A device for clamping in position to a chimney outlet, a chimney cowl having a vertically-spaced series of three annular vanes centered on a common vertical axis, the device comprising a clamping ring formed by an annular surround spaced below the lowermost vane and being fixed to the lowermost vane. The surround has provided therein tapped bores engaged by screw-threaded elements for urging inwardly against the sides of a chimney outlet.

  • Patent number: 4358126
Abstract: A 3-wheeled velociman having individual power transmission units 40 to each of the co-axial rear wheels 11, 12. Power to the units is supplied by a pair of hand activated levers 50, 51 each of which connects with an input shaft 41 to the respective unit via a ratchet mechanism 55 and transmits the power to the input shaft 41 in the desired forward or reverse rotational direction depending on the position of a pawl engagable with the ratchet.A gear change switch 60 controls the forward, reverse or neutral position of the pawl and consequently the rotational direction of the input shaft. The switch 60 is adjacent the hand grip of each lever 50, 51, and so is easily operated by the user. The input shaft drives an output shaft 42 on which the corresponding rear wheel is mounted. The hand levers are fulcrummed to the input shaft below and to the rear of the seat 18 and lie at an acute angle to the horizontal making operation of the levers by the user less tiring on the user's arms than on upright levers.

  • Patent number: 4335648
Abstract: A chimney cowl has a vertically-spaced series of five annular vanes centered on a common vertical axis. The vanes are carried by three supports equi-spaced around the inner peripheries of the vanes, the supports mounting co-axially with said vanes and between the uppermost vane and the vane immediately subjacent thereto a device provides upper and lower aerofoils. The uppermost and lowermost vanes are parallel and are of frusto-conical shape and the three intermediate vanes are parallel and are normal to the vertical axis of the vanes. The upper aerofoil is a wall of conical shape parallel to the uppermost vane and the lower aerofoil is a wall of inverted conical shape seating within and secured to the wall of the upper aerofoil. Means for clamping the cowl in position in a chimney outlet is provided.
