  • Publication number: 20100250393
Abstract: A system for network-based task management is disclosed. The system for network-based task management includes a task management server comprising a task management content generation module, a task management content access module, a conversation module, and a contact management module. The task management content can be tightly coupled to other functionality such as conversations and payment options associated with the task content. A method for network-based task management is also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20050198393
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for arbitrarily extendible information aggregation and display. This functionality is achieved by abstracting the components of the system into individual modules which communicate using a platform-independent, extendible markup language such as extensible markup language (XML). A designer adds support for new information sources or client devices by abstracting and encapsulating messages to and from the information source or client device in a wrapper using a platform-independent, extendible markup language such as XML.

  • Publication number: 20030229846
Abstract: A method and system for capturing digital data directly from an electronic device's port and processing the data into extensible markup language (XML) form. The integration appliance is configured with desired templates and XML output destination information. A port driver captures the data flowing through the port on its way to the printer. The data is scanned and the data format is determined. The data is parsed into fields and data. The parsed data is scanned to determine the correct template to apply. The correct template is applied to the data to pull out fields and corresponding data. The fields and corresponding data is transformed to XML output. This XML output is sent to a predefined destination.

  • Patent number: 6532455
Abstract: A method and system for determining document content based actions. A rule engine is provided with a document to be acted on, preferably in XML format. The rule engine is also provided with a set of rules and associated actions to be taken upon special conditions. The document is evaluated according to the rules and the document contents; each of the rules is parsed into a parse tree, the document is further evaluated, including, for the provided document, populating the parse tree with at least a portion of the document contents, to create a content-populated parse tree. The portion of the actions to be initiated is selected based on the content-populated parse tree. Actions could include, by way of example, security control or further routing of the document.

  • Publication number: 20020198992
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for fault tolerant and load balanced information aggregation and display. This functionality is achieved by dividing client sessions into individual transactions and deploying them across a server process array for processing. The server process array may also balance load among server processes by assigning individual client sessions to particular server processes. In one embodiment, the server process array includes web servers, agent servers, or state servers.
