  • Patent number: 9336509
Abstract: Systems and methods may be provided for determining, assigning and directing containers for transshipment between facilities without using an item-level sortation process and moving containers from a receiving area of a facility to an outbound dock without placing the items into inventory. A facility may or may not have item-level sortation processing. Data indicating received items is received. A determination is made for which of the received containers are for transshipment from the materials handling facility based on multiple factors. • Patent number: 9020631
Abstract: Disclosed are various embodiments for consolidating multiple pickings of an item to fulfill multiple shipments into a single picking of the multiple items. A determination is first made whether a metric representing a plurality of shipments exceeds a threshold, wherein individual ones of the plurality of shipments are mapped to corresponding ones of a plurality of item locations in a fulfillment center. The plurality of shipments are then remapped to an individual one of the plurality of item locations in response to a determination that the metric exceeds the threshold. Finally, a picking of the items is initiated.

Respective rankings of each company are transformed into respective composite scores. A relative ranking among an index-component subset of the companies in the eligible universe is defined using the each index component's composite score in relation to the composite score of the other index components. In this way, a relative composite score results, which is used to weight the index components. The weighting results are output to the user. A method for such index construction is also disclosed.
