  • Publication number: 20150367828
Abstract: There is provided a brake apparatus configured to identify a fluid leak spot while generating a braking force. The brake apparatus is configured to drive pump 7 to supply a brake fluid to a first fluid passage (fluid passage 11P, discharge passage 13P) and a second fluid passage (fluid passage 11S, discharge passage 13S), switch communicating valves 23P and 23S alternately between open and closed positions more than once, and detect a brake-fluid leakage in the first or second fluid passage on the basis of magnitudes of detection values detected by hydraulic-pressure sensors 92P and 92S during the open-close switching.

  • Publication number: 20140346851
Abstract: A brake device used in a vehicle employing a regenerative braking device for applying an electric braking force to road wheels, is provided with a first pump for sucking brake fluid from a master cylinder for generating a brake fluid pressure by a brake operation of the driver and for increasing a wheel-cylinder fluid pressure of a front-wheel system so as to generate a braking force, and a second pump for sucking the brake fluid from a reservoir, and for increasing a wheel-cylinder fluid pressure of a rear-wheel system so as to generate a braking force. Also provided is a brake control unit for calculating a distribution amount among the braking forces respectively produced by the first pump, the second pump, and the regenerative braking device in order to generate a required braking force depending on the brake operation by the driver.

  • Publication number: 20130049449
Abstract: A brake control apparatus used for a vehicle having a regenerative braking system has a brake circuit connecting a master cylinder and a wheel cylinder; a pump; a gate-out valve; a reservoir capable of storing a brake fluid that flows out from the master cylinder; and a control unit. The control unit has a brake fluid storage controlling section that stores the brake fluid flowing out from the master cylinder in the reservoir; a pressure increase controlling section that controls the gate-out valve in a valve closing direction and supplies the brake fluid stored in the reservoir to the wheel cylinder by the pump then increases the wheel cylinder pressure; and a pressure decrease controlling section that, when the regenerative braking system operates, pours the brake fluid supplied to and pressurized in the wheel cylinder into the reservoir through the pump then decreases the wheel cylinder pressure.

  • Patent number: 8246123
Abstract: A brake control system of a motorcycle is provided which can suppress a malfunction of an anti-lock braking system applied to a rear wheel which would be caused by an abnormal speed difference between the front and rear wheels. A threshold value for a skid rate for the rear wheel is kept to a second skid rate threshold value until a time when a predetermined condition is established. The second skid rate threshold value is larger than a first skid rate threshold value that is usually employed.
