  • Publication number: 20160264449
Abstract: A glass-only cutter wheel capable of eliminating the need for cleaning the glass after cutting and reducing rotation failures of the glass-only cutter wheel has a glass-only cutter wheel main body, a mounting hole provided along an axial center of the glass-only cutter wheel main body, one or a plurality of through holes and/or recessed holes provided to the glass-only cutter wheel main body along a circumferential direction of the mounting hole, and a liquefaction-resistant lubricant filled within the through hole(s) and/or recessed hole(s).

  • Publication number: 20160016842
Abstract: A glass cutting tool having a wheel holder and a glass cutter wheel rotatably attached to the wheel holder via a pin, wherein the wheel holder has at least a part formed of a self-lubricating material having self-lubricity, the part potentially contacts with side surfaces of the glass cutter wheel.

  • Publication number: 20080034595
Abstract: A glass cutter wheel includes a wheel body having a pair of inclined surfaces defining an annular cutting edge therebetween and extending obliquely radially inwardly from the cutting edge to the respective side surfaces of the wheel body. Each inclined surfaces is formed with ground lines that are spaced from the cutting edge by a distance of 2 to 100 ?m. Because the cutting edge penetrates into a glass material by a distance of 3 to 7 ?m without the need to form ribs on the cutting edge, the ground lines serve to form a large number of vertical cracks. This completely prevents discontinuous cutting lines and chipping of the glass material at intersections of cutting lines, and also serves to provide smooth cut surfaces, thereby increasing the breaking strength.

  • Publication number: 20040205970
Abstract: A glass cutter is provided which can reduce and stabilize the force applied to the cutter wheel by applying cutting pressure to the cutter wheel with a weight, and with which can reliably form scribe lines even if the size of the glass is large or the work position is unstable due to work environments. In a glass cutter having a cutter wheel on the cutter body, a bar is provided on the tip of the cutter body so as to be pivotable. A weight is mounted on the tip of the bar to apply cutting pressure to the cutter wheel, thereby reducing the force required during cutting.

  • Patent number: 6065215
Abstract: A cutter wheel which can form a deep slit on an article to be cut so that the article can be broken easily along the slit and a perpendicular cut surface can be formed reliably when the article is broken along the slit. The cutter wheel is a disk-shaped member having a cutting edge along the outer edge and formed with a mounting hole extending therethrough along its axis. The mounting hole has an irregular shape so that the cutter wheel vibrates when it rolls due to steps between adjacent sides of the polygonal hole. The edge of the wheel can thus penetrate more deeply into the glass plate so that a deeper and smoother slit can be formed in the glass plate. This in turn makes it possible to more easily break the glass plate along the slit and to form a perpendicular cut surface.
