  • Publication number: 20240172068
Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for handover timelines and power optimization for user equipment (UE) in multiple subscriber identity module (MSIM) dual receive (DR) scenarios. An example method, performed by a UE, includes entering a DR mode in which a first subscriber identity module (SIM) is active in a first radio access technology (RAT) and a second SIM is idle in a second RAT, identifying one or more channel frequencies, of a neighbor channel frequency list, that are incompatible with the DR mode, and performing a channel measurement procedure with the second SIM, on a subset of the neighbor channel frequency list that does not include the one or more channel frequencies that are incompatible with the DR mode.

  • Patent number: 9544042
Abstract: Methods and devices are disclosed for implementing opportunistic mobile receive diversity (“OMRD”) on a multi-SIM wireless device. The wireless device may receive a request from a protocol stack associated with the first SIM to utilize the second RF resource for receive diversity, and determine whether a protocol stack associated with the second SIM currently has a lower priority than the protocol stack associated with the first SIM. Upon determining that the protocol stack associated with the second SIM currently has a lower priority than the protocol stack associated with the first SIM, the wireless device may grant control of the second RF resource to the protocol stack associated with the first SIM. Granting control may provide, to the protocol stack associated with the first SIM, a capability to enable and disable receive diversity using the first and second RF resources.

  • Publication number: 20160126992
Abstract: Various embodiments provide methods, devices, and non-transitory processor-readable storage media for mitigating local oscillator (LO) spur interference between radio access technologies (RATs) operating on a multi-active communication device. The various embodiments provide methods, devices, and non-transitory processor-readable storage media to determine residual frequency error for a multi-active communication device and generate LO spur handling tables that may enable the multi-active communication device to compensate for the residual frequency error. A multi-active communication device may mitigate LO spurs by applying mitigation techniques to one or more RATs according to the LO spur handling tables. A multi-active communication device may mitigate LO spurs by turning off a LOs for one or more RATs according to the LO spur handling tables.

  • Publication number: 20150119103
Abstract: Methods, systems and devices for prioritizing communication technologies to allocate resources in a mobile device. The mobile device may employ a dual subscription, dual active (DSDA) configuration in which two subscriptions may be associated with concurrently active communications, such as voice or data calls. The mobile device may identify current states that indicate the type of communications associated with the subscriptions. In an embodiment, an applications processor within the mobile device may perform the state identifications. The mobile device may determine priorities of the concurrently active subscriptions based on the identified states. In an embodiment, the priorities may be determined by a modem processor within the mobile device. When the priorities are determined to be the same, the mobile device may perform a tiebreaker algorithm to further identify priorities. Based on the determined priorities, the mobile device may allocate resources to favor the subscription with the higher priority.
