    Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure aim to improve upon methods and systems for arranging individual images onto a spritesheet in game development software. The arrangement of images is updated in response to user input as the user adds, modifies or deletes images in a development project. Part of the method includes limiting the maximum amount of processing required in response to a user's alteration of an image. From the user side, the user opens a project, which includes an image editor, adds an image to the project/modifies an image in the spritesheet/deletes an image; then commits a change to the image (by clicking “save” or simply closing an edit window); and the user continues editing the project, which might include loading a further image or continuing to work on game code. The project includes one or more spritesheets collections each including one or more spritesheets.
