  • Patent number: 11970291
Abstract: A toilet for a zero-gravity condition, having: a seat extending from a first end to a second end, and from a first side to a second side; a leg rest at the first end of the seat that is level with the seat; a backrest at the second end of the seat that extends away from the seat, toward an outer end of the toilet, a first sidewall at the first side of the seat and a second sidewall at the second side of the seat, the sidewalls extend away from the seat toward the outer end of the toilet; a basin extending away from the seat toward an inner end of the toilet; a first inflatable member extending about the leg rest, the sidewalls and the backrest, the first inflatable member is configured to inflate against a back, sides and under legs of a person seated against the seat.

  • Publication number: 20230303253
Abstract: An environmental control system in a vehicle includes a pressurized tank of nitrox, which is a mixture of nitrogen and oxygen, and a delivery valve to block or allow a flow of the nitrox from the pressurized tank to a cabin of the vehicle. The environmental control system also includes a controller to control the delivery valve based on a total pressure or an oxygen partial pressure in the cabin.

  • Publication number: 20230303269
Abstract: A heat rejection system in a vehicle includes a heat exchanger to take in input coolant and to output a warmed coolant, a heat of vaporization device (HVD), and a heat of fusion device (HFD). The heat rejection system also includes a controller to direct the warmed coolant to the HVD or to the HFD based on an input. The input indicates altitude of the vehicle or ambient pressure.

  • Publication number: 20230266778
Abstract: A vehicle cabin air temperature controller includes a two-position three-way solenoid valve with one inlet to take in coolant from a pump, a first outlet to supply a cooling leg, and a second outlet to supply a bypass leg. The vehicle cabin air temperature controller also includes a controller to control flow of the coolant via the first outlet and the second outlet of the solenoid valve, and a cabin air heat exchanger to obtain an input coolant based on the control of the flow via the first outlet and the second outlet and to provide cooled cabin air to the vehicle cabin. The control of the flow of the coolant via the first outlet and the second outlet controls a temperature of the input coolant.
