  • Publication number: 20220092714
Abstract: A mobile modular biometric apparatus includes a first case to support a mobile terminal and a second case to support at least one biometric sensor. A coupler rotatably couples the first case to the second case, and a plurality of conductive lines carry signals between the mobile terminal and the at least one biometric sensor. The signals include biometric information from the biometric sensor. The coupler controls the first case and the second case to rotate between open and closed positions. The first case overlaps the second case in the closed position and has a different orientation relative to the second case in the open position.

  • Publication number: 20220038567
Abstract: A mobile biometric apparatus includes a module and a first frame supporting a mobile terminal. The module includes a second frame supporting a biometric sensor having a sensing surface oriented in the same direction as a display screen of the mobile terminal. The module further includes a coupler and a connector. The coupler removably couples the first and second frames. The connector delivers powers and signals between the mobile terminal and biometric sensor. The signals include biometric information obtained by the biometric sensor. The connector may include a plug of a type configured to be inserted into the port of a smart phone, table, or another type of mobile terminal.

  • Patent number: 9306656
Abstract: There is provided apparatus for propagation of a wireless signal through a barrier comprising a first antenna for location on a first side of the barrier, a second antenna for location on a second side of the barrier and a waveguide. The waveguide comprises a conducting member passing through the barrier between the first and second sides. The conducting member is held within an insulator sleeve such that it is spaced from a surrounding metal wall of the waveguide. A wireless signal received by the waveguide on the first side of the barrier is transmitted through the barrier by Transverse Electro-Magnetic (TEM) mode propagation along the waveguide is re-radiated on the second side.

  • Patent number: 7731097
Abstract: A water saving device for us in a hot water system to recover an initial volume of cold water when a hot water tap is turned on. The device has an inlet for receiving water piped from a water heater, a primary outlet for delivering hot water to a tap, and a by-pass outlet through which any cooled water is diverted by a thermally actuated shuttle valve. The device also includes a secondary valve for closing off the by-pass outlet when the water pressure downstream of the primary outlet is high (such as when the down stream hot water delivery tap is closed and opening the by pass outlet when the water pressure downstream of the primary outlet is low, such as when the downstream hot water delivery tap is opened.
